The OFFICIAL EitB XXI Trash-Talking Thread: Less Talk. More Trash

Ilios posted in his thread to say he's ready to call the game; I don't see how I'm going to overcome plako with my disorganized leftovers. So, good game plako! And sorry again, Ilios! I'll just slink away now...

Great game indeed. Enjoyed it a lot. I've never seen a game like this providing action turn after turn and the leader constantly changing.

Agreed! Congratulations on the well-deserved win, Plako. And thanks everyone for a great game. Also thanks also to my dedlurkers for helping see me through it (sorry the updates fell apart in the end).

It was a blast smile. Would dedlurk again++ (if I weren't playing against you)

The updates ending - well, honestly my interest was greatly damaged as well once we were out of the running. It takes more dedication than I have to continue elaborate updates once you're just playing to let the remaining challengers sort out their position.

On a related subject, I do have a question for Plako.

Why the heck did you put the game into stasis circa T120? You had tons of Earth Elementals and Maelstroming Puppets every turn, that could strike from outside anyone's retaliation range, typically that could also straight kill even the strongest units on the board....and you used them to return cities to Bob and Thoth, and to pillage.

It seemed to me that you could easily have conquered the world, enough for domination (just would have had to hit Ilios and take a bunch of cities on the first turn). Or at the very least, you could have taken all the mana nodes but Ilios', and won by Tower well before you got the Rites done. Why not?

I do think this was best course of action. You were just too strong for a long time. Anything, but full co-operation from rest of the world would have been foolish. If I would have started my Tower of Mastery too early without proper production and military, I wouldn't have got it built. Elohim would definately gone against me then and alonside with you it wouldn't have ended well for me.

I don't wonder why you attacked us, that seemed obvious. Painful, but it made sense. I wonder why you stopped with just keeping us penned in and pillaged, when it seemed like you could utterly destroy us. Maybe we just seemed stronger from the outside than we felt like when you were destroying all our offensive stacks.

If left alone, I probably could have been able to raze your cities one by one with my power summons. However that would have changed the balance of 3 big players so that Ilios would have been much more likely to turn against me. I really didn't want to face both you and him simultaneously. This would have been a danger, if you would have become too weak.
