Dang, even if we'd gotten Cover right I don't think we'd have managed Fan.  Pretty good Hail Mary attempt, though - at least it was a clue that included all our remaining words and didn't push us toward the remaining red words.

It must have been pretty maddening to watch us consider Iron for every single clue lol.

Another round?

I really thought I had something with Iron crazyeye It was a tricky set to clue...maybe "Music 4" for FAN-CONDUCTOR-BEAT-COVER to start off with?
I'd like to spymaster for next round.

Not for me.  lol

Anyway, while there's not a whole lot to say on my end (as you guys pretty much followed my plan perfectly), I may as well share some thoughts:

Hunted 3 - Lewwyn was correct on the reason why I went specifically for 'hunted', that is I was looking specifically for the prey. However, although everyone mentioned MAMMOTH and DRAGON no-one mentioned the 3rd word I had intended with this clue, ALIEN. Thankfully with everyone saying SHOT I could work around that misplay, but it did put an end to any thoughts of finishing in 3 rounds. I put this first cause we had to get past TURKEY.

Space 2 - Self-explanatory.

Pesticide 2 - I'm real proud of this clue, and you guys for following along perfectly. smile BERRY was the toughest word to clue on my board, and with SHOT gone AGENT was causing me lots of problems too. I only thought of this halfway through the round, and even if we had to wait for CARROT to be gone it was easily worth the attempt. I had a backup plan in case you guys missed AGENT (Oxidizing 3) but I really needed you guys to get BERRY. Thankfully, that wasn't needed. I could've tried to stretch this to 3 with WATER but that seemed like an unnecessary risk.

Rust 2 - Again, self-explanatory. I was holding onto WATER and IRON as long as possible since I had no clue how Commodore would clue CONDUCTOR otherwise. His Stick clue was a decent way around it, and even though he had to Hail Mary at the end I'm not sure I could have done much better in his shoes. Blue definitely had the harder board IMO.

Who wants to take the 2nd round?

Not a bad idea. The problem is that you'll have great difficulty pairing the remaining words, in particular CARROT. Assuming PIT and ANGEL go together, all I can think of is something like Agriculture 2 for CARROT/ROW, but there are too many words that get in the way of that (BERRY, EGYPT, CYCLE...). Despite that, it could still work.

Nicely done team! I would rather not spymaster for Round 2.

I could spymaster unless someone else badly wants to.

I was thinking on a similar line: concert for FAN-CONDUCTOR-PIT-ROW. But WK is right, the hard part is getting the remaining four words in less than four clues...maybe Cake for Angel/Carrot/Beat, but at the risk of having us guess Berry.

Plus of course it's easier to imagine it working when I already know the answers wink.

Yeah, sorry for that guys. Well played WK.

I did consider Music/Musicians, but I worried that would bring Pupil into the mix.
