Ramk may have been slow to 3 cities, but hes second? to 4. Last turn he declared on Vanrober and this turn took a 2 pop city. Assuming an attack of opportunity as both are near my power lvl. I'm curious how far away the prize is though as he didn't raze. Anyways should make all my eastern city cites even safer than they were before as Vanrober will be busy.
Other news worth reporting is that Gira settled near the coast and is about to get his 3rd city next turn. Scout will get pushed as its sitting on an archer and I see settler coming; hope he doesn't get stuck until writing. I had moved onto the archer so he wouldn't get to attack me. I knew the settler was there, but I didn't know his second city was blocking the coast. I was hoping to get pushed to that side, which now if I do will get stuck. Scout will go up and around and look for my theorized land bridge if he doesn't.
Forgot to report last time that first training dumby barb warrior has shown up and given an axe some experience. Between the mountain and the lakes I actually have a lot of vision that is naturally barb busting.
Edit: making my land bridge theory even more likely is that SD has not met giro but is spending EPs on assumption multiple other people. I'm actually only person to have met everyone in the donut.

I don't remember the rules about where you get pushed when a city settles. I think it's towards your cap? Not sure.

It was towards my cap which means I got "stuck". This is where you can tell I haven't played MP. In single player declaring war brings diplo penalty. MP I declared war and hoped he understands that my scout got stuck. Archer in new city and one in 2nd are injured although one I'm standing next to less so. I might even tempt him again next turn (although i will also be offering peace next turn). BTW He orphaned a fish which I can't condone. Also he teched archery, which I again can't condone unless he was under duress. You'll note I don't have it in my current tech path. Its sometime after all that when I do a round of filler techs.

just don't step on any important tiles on your way out - if you block a worker, he'll probably kill the scout. if not, he (should) let you go through.
archery is usually a mistake unless he chose to not settle copper or horses right away, in which case it's probably a mistake to not settle copper or horse quickly this is base, so it's not even cheap.
One thing about the games here - people like pictures reporting is more awesome when people post pictures. It's your game and report as you wish (I have found that some games I report a lot and some I report very little). One thing that might be good is a high level map with where everyone is, now that you have found everyone. Maybe one with just strategic resources on, too?

Fair enough. As rambles is in the title I can't NOT do another post to make up for it I suppose. FYI for the lurkers; yes I logged in again on my turn during this hot and heavy war with Gira, but I didn't change anything, just took pictures.
Hot and heavy war zone:

I'm betting everyone had a near copper that could share a food with capital and everyone had a far copper at a better spot. Gira's capital is above my sign which is on a 3rd ring culture tile. Gira choose the far copper spot and I'm assuming just didn't know about the 2nd fish? He finished stonehenge shortly after so its not like there would have been a difference by the time he built a workboat. I would have put SW of copper and then fortified the hill later to get workboat in. Without stonehenge or being cultural I would agree.
Overall map; I didn't turn all resources on because it looked really cluttered. Other than above section you can see them all a few posts back. Is there a way to just turn the military ones on?
So donut people:
-Vanrober - was doing really well in food until the attack by Ramk. He 2 pop and 1 pop whipped cities this turn assuming trying to retake his. Ramk definitely slowed him down. Those whips could have been settler worker instead of what I'm assuming are unit unit.
Ramk - was off to a really slow start but IF he can keep the stolen Van city without having to exert too much he can pull himself back into this. I don't think Van will take it lightly though. This war definitely makes me feel all warm and fuzy. Its neighbor vs financial civ. As long as Ramk doesn't come away from this easily its great for me. As long as Vanrober didn't pink dot him I imagine Vanrober can retake his city.
GKC- 1st to 4 cities that I know. Off to a roaring India start. One bad thing about a weak Ramk and then Ramk warring the other direction is that it is great for GKC.
Gira - I'm pretty sure hes playing single player, but he probably has the room to do so.
SD - last but not least, still on 3 cities. I imagine with the granaries I assume he built he will be exploding shortly. Military is equal to mine, but I think there are a descent number or warriors and barracks in there.
Assuming my scout lives there is actually a descent chance I don't want to go onto an assumed landbridge for a bit. My main competition super long are the financial people and I'll likely be leading tech on at least El Grillo with his increased maintenance. Plemo might* be ahead of me in tech so maybe its worth it to know him? But don't know for sure which I would meet. Probably use scout to cautiously scout around SD after hes done with his circle.

thanks.
If you zoom further out, you get to the strategy layer. the buttons on the bottom right slightly change. if you click on the resource one, you will be able to choose food, luxuries or general. General is stone, marble and strategic resources. Culture also gives information - sometimes, you can even learn from it - in PB 46, I found Superdeath because of it - I had passed near enough him to see him, but I didn't notice until I took a look at this layer.

I knew about most of the zoomed out options, but not the different resource options. I'll try them out next time.

Its hot and humid here and I'm too cheap to turn on AC and I made a mistake. I accidentally played before Giroflorens. We are at war even as phony as I think it is. I did not move my scout in case he wants to take a smack which I doubt because a barb warrior is on the other side of that city (which is why I didn't move the scout before I even realized my issue). PM'ed him the following which I think is neutral:
"I am very sorry I forgot to wait to play after you this turn as we are at war. Post in the general forum if you want a reload."

He must have had a reinforcing unit somewhere or won flawlessly vs warrior because his archer came out and killed my scout. MJMD will remember this. Some trade down the road I'm tacking on 1 gold a turn. Well now I don't have an option to meet anyone else for a while or scout around SD. I wonder if he would have done this had he realized he bordered SD and I'm his most likely ally on that side.....
Other news Ramk got writing this turn and opened borders.
SD settled his 4th city last turn but not where I expected. He settled between cow and fish instead of also grabbing the horse (I assume he can see). I take that to mean he wants to grab land through expansion and not military which is GREAT for me. If all goes well that city will be a holy city in 2 turns and his city will never get 2nd ring tiles near me. Does mean I can't place a city much much later on the lake. Once I had military superiority I had thought of planting one.
