CFC researched Machinery. No new techs for any other team from what I can tell.

Both CFC and Apolyton turned research back on last turn.

CFC went -190g and Apolyton -140g. At that pace, CFC has four more turns of 100% research, and Apolyton five and a half.

As noted by Sullla in the turn discussion thread, CFC researched Engineering, obviously set on getting the Notre Dame. We'll have to see if they plan to use their great engineer for that, or if they will slowbuild the wonder (they do still get stone from us).

On the other hand, CFC only researched Machinery last turn, and I doubt they have enough research capacity to one-turn Engineering even in a golden age and with plenty of scientists, even with plenty of overflow from Machinery (remember, we needed to build up overflow over 3t to one-turn Liberalism). That said, I think we will have to assume that they did overflow and research Engineering in 1t, and didn't have to use their scientist engineer to bulb.

No tech for CivFr, and I note that their last techs have been CS->Paper->Machinery. I suspect they are on a beeline towards Printing Press. I think they're on to an expensive tech, and if they wanted Education then there is no need for Machinery first.

Apolyton researched Machinery. They are either on a guilds beeline like us (probably planning to continue with Banking->Economics), or to do Printing Press. I think the former is the more likely.

The other two teams with sizable score increases were CivPlayers (33) and Univers (16). I note down a tentative Machinery for CivPlayers. I think Univers received a mix of pop and land score, but will have to check their growth numbers first.

I suppose it's impossible that they bulbed into engineering with the er, engineer?

Should've written "engineer" instead of "scientist" in my report, yes. But I think we will have to assume they did do max overflow from Machinery for now.

T141 notes, supplemental.

I think Webringen has finished a settler - it finished a build that was at 98H last turn, that didn't get a building, and the city has been at size 9 for a while now.

The Germans has also finished a Buddhist temple in Wien, so they are confirmed to know Polytheism. Unclear if they know Meditation or Polytheism, but I've pencilled in Polytheism for now.

I've concluded that Bulawayo (the Spanish southernmost city) now has expanded to third-ring borders, and confirmed that they know IW now.

CFC's newest city claimed 5 tiles. I'm unsure where it was built, but I don't think it went for CFC's arctic cluster of resources - that would only give four land tiles by my count. Tree and jungle gazing didn't give anything.

Apolyton has finished a Hindu monastery in their city of Diyarbakir (their most westernmost city, and probably future border city towards Univers). Not sure what they intend to do with that, unless they're out walking cats.

T142, CFC notes:

CFC used their golden age well, and have netted 3 great people (one engineer and two scientists) during it, and also researched 3 expensive medieval techs: Machinery (T140), Engineering (T141), and Feudalism (T142). They started with 100g on T134 and now has 3g.

Ie, during the 8 turns CFC generated 4,320 raw beakers (3600 with known tech discount) at a cost of 100g. Their costs has been circa 220gpt, from what I can tell, and their max gold surplus was 312. Ie, they could generate 530gpt during their golden age, and assuming a gold:beaker weight of 1:1.1 (market in Lana, academy in Indira) I think it's clear that they could generate circa 580 raw beakers per turn (excluding specialists). They ran max gold for 3t, and max research for 5.

But the thing I'm considering is the timing of Engineering, and if they could have generated the techs without using their GE to bulb. Right now, I'm still on the fence, but I think they could have one-turned Engineering without bulbing. But I'm far from sure if they could have followed it up with one-turning Feudalism.

Anyway, I think they are building the Notre Dame in Terasvin (95H invested T138, then 0 for several turns, and now 82). The thing I was worried about was them rushing it with their GE in their stupid border city with us.

T143 notes:

Two new techs this turn: Apolyton researched Feudalism, and I guess will go for Guilds next (unless they plan to do HBR before that). CFC researched HBR, and will definitely go for Guilds next. Given the pace which they have researched techs lately (Machinery T140, Engineering T141, Feudalism T142, and HBR T143) I think it's more and more likely that they used their GE to bulb Engineering.

(Given the way Apolyton and CFC has chosen research paths, I'm unsure how much collabaration the two teams are doing. Apolyton could have done Feudalism before Machinery, allowing both teams to pick up known techs bonuses.)

CFC's city of Terasvin went from 82H invested to 122H (+40), so I'm fairly confident CFC is building the Notre Dame there, using 18 base hammers, OR, and stone (the city doesn't have a forge yet, according to my notes). They should get the wonder eot 153 if I do my math correctly, and don't do any whips or simila, or they can't get any more hammers (there are no worthwhile choppable forests in range).

I think CFC has also started to spend EPs on us again - the cost of inciting revolts in their cities has started to creep up. We should make a note of the current EP ration this turn, and see if there are further changes as the turn rolls next.

Apolyton captured the former barb city of Khoisan that we scouted a few turns back. No surprise there.

We can check the exact amount of EP on us. I believe it me part of the main foreign advisor screen.
