we never roaded the pigs @ maths, so thats 2 extra health there.

Pigs only give 1 health I think - the 2nd health is with the grocer (unless that's what you meant)

I was thinking pigs got +1 with granary.. granary is just grains, though, you're right. regardless I can find a way to get more health, I'll build a friggin' Aquaduct if I have to, got to get Gilgamesh tall . we can also support a little unhealth, gilgamesh has plenty of food.

Better a grocer at Guilds, you must have something which it doubled like: spices, wines,bananas or sugar and you gets some gold too.

yes grocers are wonderful :P.

we have pigs and wines now, and can get spices if we ever get around to researching calender . no sugar, and banana will have to wait until we take some cities from azza :/

- no way yet, phew. was able to 1 turn an archer in maths to garrison el cid.
- scooter turned down my rice for clams deal. maybe he has rice he hasn't hooked up yet? I forgot to check. since commodore cancelled our elephant deal, he needs rice now, so I can offer him the same deal. won't need it for 3 turns so can think about it. do we want to try and get elephants again? we also don't have deer now, but there is deer in the eastern tundra site, so we'll have it once we get that city up and running. hopefully we can avoid having to build an acquedect in gilgamesh .

ok, scooter rejected my offer and then proposed the same deal a turn later that works, rather make it with him than commodore. Glad I waited to offer it to commodore.

this is an easy one too. we have 7 libraries already and I'm starting on in El Cid this turn. so we'll just need to squeeze in one extra library in shahnahmeh or mahabrata to get the quest.

I'm really curious about the great library add on. I really wish I could deter quickly to lit and pick it up - except azza had machinery queued and he's only 8 turns away. so we'll beat him by a few turns but if we delay it will be bad .

any chance a lurker can tell me what the prize for this quest is - with and without TGL? I'm going to pick up aesthetics and literature after machinery, hoping that TGL will still be available then, although it doesnt seem likely. probably should wait on the 9th library until it falls, just in case.

the micro in gilgamesh works out nicely:

we have exactly enough food to grow in 2 turns. then I'll pick up a grassland mine and have exactly enough food to grow in 3 turns (pigs will be connected by then). might try to squeeze out a settler then before semi-permanently building maces.

CFC thinks it's +2 science in the triggering library, One Ancient Era Tech, or GLib gives 3 scientists instead of 2.

Pssh, The Great Library? Yeah, totally not worth it.

Better would be to build a castle for a chance at the "best defense" quest. +3 with every leader... Might even bring Azza up to cautious!

Glancing at the code, I am fairly confident that it is only for the city, given that bPickCity is set to 1 for the Library choice, but 0 for the horse-whisperer's stable choice.

wait.. are you saying it only gives me +2 science in the city that builds the 9th library? wow that sucks, whats the point of that?
or I can get a free ancient era tech? hmm, that would be great if HBR was still on teh table, but meditation is the only ancient era tech we haven't researched :/.

Q - if TGL is still on the table when I can research literature, I'll build it regardless. we are IND and will have marble hooked up very soon, and TGL is cheap anyway, so I'll crank that out very quickly. The question is if its worth delaying the 9th library until thatr point, hoping TGL is on the table. if I only get 2 science in one friggin' city then I might as well delay it.
