[PB74 Spoilers] Donovan Zoi Celebrates 20 Years of Living Dangerously

Was there any combat that happened?

Not yet, thankfully. I was just healing units.

I don’t really have time to flower this up so I’ll just stick to the facts. I won’t have pictures to provide at this time.

-a few turns ago, Minger GA’d a culture bomb in Grey Goo while I was advancing a huge stack on metal.

-he probably expected me to scurry back to former Deluge, now vulnerable to a road I once controlled. But instead I marched south with the intent of hitting Grey Goo from within GKC’s substantial borders. It would have put me two times away from this new blight of a city.

-on our last turn of peace, Minget whipped about 8 units, something they haven’t had to do at any point this far against GKC. So you can bet that some of those units were meant to protect Grey Goo.

-with peace expired, they chose to use our presumed peace to skip the turn order and whip 5 more units.

Sounds like I caught somebody with their pants down. And now I likely won’t be able to benefit from my strategy And then they will get to invoke the combat clause, even though my case is pretty shaky anyway.

It should also be noted that I’ve always rejoined the war immediately after 10 turn peace, and Egypt knows this.

So whatever. Talk it out, give me the bad news and I’ll adapt. Especially since I now have to contend with metal’s stack of 30-odd units when I was literally one attack from wiping him off the board, thanks to dumbass GKC accepting peace and allowing access to his last city.

I see it was only 2 units this turn.

Oh and Minger will have Rifles and Cavs soon, if not already. This will have been my last chance to bring balance to the continent.

“Gee willikers, and now we can promote our Muskets and Rifles to Garrison 2 before your attack!”

Incidentally I just discovered Gunpowder this turn, mostly for Pinch. So much for that strategy.

Sorry but this stinks all around, even if this does get by on a technicality.

Just to clarify, you want a reload? To when?

I’m not sure I’m entitled to a reload since Minger had combat and took a city from GKC already this turn. But if it can be shown that Egypt’s whipped units were moved to cover Grey Goo, Four Horsemen and/or Lyons this turn before I have a chance to respond, I’d think that would warrant some kind of penalty/admonishment.

I’ll leave it to the community to see if a reload is warranted, so I’ll say yes let’s review that if the option is available. So sure, formal request for a reload to before Egypt began this turn.

I don't really have time to get into this, but do you want us to ask them what they've done with specific units, bearing in mind it will be clear you've asked this, and that it might alert them to your intended actions (if they're not aware)?

Edit: could you talk through the history of this turn split? Have you observed it over the last ten turns?

I’ve definitely established myself as a known adversary and with their extended culture in GG they should definitely see what I may have planned. There were also an uncharacteristic amount of whips that took place during the last turn of our peace, something they haven’t needed so far against a French Civ in its death throes with pindicator now chipping in.

Re:turn split: They’ve been forced to play after GKC, but I’ve been the first to play based on several factors.

Since no one can come out and agree that double moving on the first turn of non-peace is bullshit, I’ll just drop the case and exact my own punishment. But you can put an asterisk on my eventual downfall now that lost the promotion advantage.
