I don't know on the XP spread question - not sure which unit gets less, or if the number might just get rounded down for every unit.

I'm pretty sure Medic 2 gives 10 HP healing, and that's additive with the standard base 20 for being in one of your own cities.

Thanks!

A quick worldbuilder test suggests that it does spread exactly 20 XP across all units, no rounding, and it goes in the order units are displayed at the bottom of the screen - rightmost is the one that gets 2XP. Doesn't seem like there's a way to influence it, in the test I put 6 longbows and an archer in this city, archer was the rightmost, and got 2XP even when it was the unit I attached the GG to

In the real game, the rightmost unit is a longbow with 3XP. So that works for every unit getting a promotion

Thoth's stack has an assortment of units - 4 melee, 5 ranged, 5 mounted - so don't think I can pick anything more interesting than city garrison 2

Well not everyone ended up with a promotion, because evidently I can't count, especially at 3am when I looked at the turn - I had 8 units in the city, not 7

6 of 8 units did get a promo, that will have to do

Also they did not heal at eot (not sure when exactly healing happens), so making a medic 2 would've been a waste

Are you sequential ?
I think the healing is start of the turn.

Yes sequential

Start of the turn makes sense, I remember once seeing a Thoth's unit heal as I ended turn (Thoth plays after me). But sure glad I went for promos and not a medic in this case!

Yes, healing happens at the start of your own turn in sequential pitboss. The medic would have given healing to anything that didn't move, but not until after Thoth's turn.

I assume it would've died before then, as it would've been the top defender, being the only healthy longbow in town lol

Maybe or maybe not - it might have won the first attack but taken damage until it to one hit away from dying, which would then make it a low priority defender against the other attacks.

yeah never know of course - but pretty sure healing with promos was more immediate value, and in my position I can't worry about long term. And of course there's value from promotions themselves

Looks like it was all for naught, the city fell. Oh well, I did what I could. My feeling was that Thoth didn't have enough with what I could see, and he didn't have an easy way to bring more units in - but he likely had some promos / promo healing available after the first round
