Wow, that's a lot of desert. I'm starting to have second thoughts, but it's probably too late now. Still, need Copper and Gold.

you've got 5 real good worker spots in that city (2 FP, wet rice, gold, copper) and 2 riverside grassland spots. if you get past level 7 you can still work the 3 non-river grassland spots. thats level 10, won't have to work the incense until you get to level 11. It'll be fine.

Thanks.
Makemake was settled this turn:
Queued up a Warrior for lack of anything better to build. Rice will be farmed next turn.
Haumea's going to have to work a Grassland mine for two turns while waiting for the Work Boat, unfortunately. Ouch, already down to 60%.
Demographics:
Second in Land Area, but not sure if that's just due to Creative. Crop Yield isn't too bad yet. Mackoti already has a third city, by the way.

Could you do me a small favour, and turn on the grid for screenshots. I play with it on and find it hard to visualise the BFC without it.

Sure thing. I'm hoping that this 'slow-build Settlers and chop out Work Boats' approach will work.

Revolted into Slavery, since the Work Boat and Settler were both moving to their spots. Built roads with the workers in Makemake.
I ran a test to see how to build the Granaries. Haumea's will be whipped at Size 4 on T37, Haumea doesn't have the production to build it. Pluto will be building a Worker, then 1-pop whipping the Granary at Size 3 on T41. Makemake's will be completed normally at T43 off of the hammers from the Gold and Copper, since I'll end up at 20/40 (unless I decide to work a forest for a turn). Eris' will be chopped/whipped sometime around Makemake's. After that, the Gold and first cottages will come online, and it's back to Settlers. Hmm, maybe I should build the Settler in Haumea after the Granary.
Eris will have a problem with a lack of improved tiles if the Worker is chopping, though. Makemake will have to work an unimproved floodplains for a turn while the Copper mine is being built. I'm not sure whether to build roads to connect the resources or floodplains cottages, honestly.

Eris was settled this turn:
Working the plains forest to get the Work Boat done ASAP. Actually, maybe that isn't the best idea, since the Pasture completes one turn after the Work Boat.
Makemake's borders popped, revealing Ivory to the west:
Already down to 40% research. Pottery comes in T36, fits in well with the micro. Haumea swaps to Granary T36, 1t away from Size 4. I'll recheck the micro for Makemake later, especially on the Farm Floodplains vs. Hook up Resources.
Also, I'm not whipping a Granary in Pluto because there won't be any improved tiles to work Size 3. That, and Workers are amazingly cheap at Pluto, only 4 turns.
Is 1-pop whipping Granaries usually a good idea, Brian? I know you usually don't want to 1-pop whip, but for Granaries, where you want them up ASAP, is it worth it?
Demographics:
Second in Crop Yield, tops in Land Area. Having small cities is reflected in being tops in Happiness and Health. Oh well.

if they are set to grow before the granary is completed, and a whip can prevent that, its always worth it!

Thanks. Guess I'll be whipping Granaries.
Nothing happened this turn, dumped a turn of Roading by Eris while the Worker headed towards the Sheep. Started Mining the Copper and Gold.
After Pottery, I'll probably go for Hunting to get the Ivory, then Writing.
EoT, I'm tops in Crop Yield and Land Area. Crop Yield is nice to be first in. Not sure if Land Area is due to four cities or Creative.

Another boring turn, everything's going according to plan. Mining the Copper, pasturing the Sheep, and Pottery came in EOT.
Someone's tied with me in Land Area and Crop Yield.
