In light of Xenu's stamp of approval, which he obviously agonized over by spending several hours in a dark, quiet chamber lost in thought, we have the following:
Losing the commerce made it necessary to keep using the oasis or else delay pottery.
Nice that there is no beaker loss due to rounding, even at 90%.
The whole shebang-a-bang, above, statporn for Xenu below.

Err.... I think early harrassment that you need extra troops for is generally a losing proposition. Early harrassment only works really well when someone else does it against someone else But good luck with it, I hope your gamble is correct and that it will help curb Sian's growth.

I want to scout that lake with the marble/stone. Consider this scouting in force. If I get a 50/50 shot on something, I'll take it. More room for me and all that jazz.

I don't know if I mentioned this already but if you settle the locations where you have ??? in your screenshot you can still settle the island even though it's inside of two tiles to an existing city. Since it will be on a different landmass that city spacing rule won't apply so you can cram a city in for ICTRs. Of course then you'll have to defend it....
One interesting thought is that if you move the northern ??? island settlement site one tile to the north you will block off Commodore from settling the island closest to his territory. You'd have to move 1N in order for your city culture to cover both tiles on the island and make it impossible for him to settle (without burning your city first), unless I'm misunderstanding how culture spreads to islands. I think that your culture won't cover any tiles on another continent except for any tiles that are in the BFC of one of your cities. I could definitely use confirmation on this from someone, though. If I have it right, though, and you are able to both block Commodore's island and get your own that means at least he will be blocked from stone/marble, at least from what we've seen on the map so far. I don't think there is another source anywhere?
Also, any idea what is waiting for us at the other toroid pole? Or have I not paid close enough attention to the map to see the other wrap? I don't think you've uncovered it yet...it should be between Sian and Slowcheetah.

Those are tentative city placements. We'll decide once my scouting party moves through the area. You are certainly seeing one wrap, though. Look back through the thread for where you made fun of my diagram. One advantage of settling 1N that you didn't mention would be attackers having to cross a river. However, this also makes causing collateral damage more difficult. Either way, I'm not stoked about settling on flat ground but I think 2N is a reach. However, the mirror of that spot would be the one marked 5W of DH. Denying Commodore Stone/Marble would be nice, but I have to run my race too, so we'll see. Hopefully Sian/CautiousCheetah will have something to say on this matter too. (Note, that is not intended to be derisive toward SlowC, but he is a bit cautious).

Warrior shows its ugly mug (bad timing for him), finally have demos on Sian, Q completes in CC, Axe #2 completes in DH, Pottery is in, both cities grow to size three. Other than that, nadda. Good turn for us.
Free EXP!!
Incoming photo dump of graphs:
Xenu, do some analysis. My brief thoughts are that early game financial lake has been tremendously helpful to overcoming that brief choke from Commodore, that I'm not sure what Slow is doing, but that he has a lot of crop yield...maybe setting up for a 'Mids run? I know he loves a specialist economy, and it will be very good on this small map if he's left alone to do it. I know Sian built 'Henge, which is nice for CHA, but he paid full price. IND/CHA Com would have loved that at a discount, which I'm glad he didn't get. COM is running a bit of a catch up gambit, as evidenced by his last place power. Really, I should do the same in all probability, but farming at home is less fun than marauding abroad. I could run a couple axes at him, but he'd just whip and I can't deny his bronze as he's settled right on top of it. Which reminds me, I better save some pop in CC for emergency whipping to cover mine as needed. I'm still chopping the forests adjacent to the city there so I won't get choked out.
Anyway, those are my thoughts. Xenu, be useful.

So both Boldly and Catwalk have managed to get hit by a ban hammer already? I wonder what the new post threshold is and how many times Rego and Krill have been banned by now?
Analysis: I don't have much time to help but I can tell you that Commodore is either building a worker, settler, or wonder in his capital as of the start of last turn, as he had 39 hammers in the box when I loaded up the save for T32 (2080 BC). If his production numbers reset next turn it was a worker (unless someone finishes a wonder he could have been working on). Otherwise still a settler or wonder. In any case he isn't building a military unit unless he's working up overflow following an upcoming whip.
You need to get some value from those axes. What did you follow the axe builds with? Hopefully a settler in one city? We need to push expansion while we can because it won't take long to fill in this map. Having the axes will discourage someone trying to have an adventure at our expense but they have to be home for that to work. If they're going anywhere I'd have sent them to your nearest neighbor Sian if you can whack that barb and get your scouting done soon enough. But you don't need to scout that much over there, you have a few city sites outlined already.
New military unit names:
Cantankerous Bear
Deranged Bear
Exhibitionist Bear
Fraudulent Bear

I think that I'm going to hvae to have #3 go by the stone/marble area. That's where my axes are scouting now. I put both builds on Terraces, but I can change if needed. CC is better set up to whip the settler since I just double whipped DH, but that's farther away. It also has a chop coming in soon, so I'm going to get the Terrace up in short order there. Just reading the demos, I think I can get away with city #4 in Slowcheetah's face, somewhere advantageous near the silver area, after I take the lake area.
Sian has built a couple axes himself, his power graph mirrors mine. But, he'll need to attack me to get rid of me and I'll have defender's advantage. I'd be happy with a solid stalemate for my reach city in that area. Interesting start, I just wish I could have choked Commodore a bit longer. 12% loss Q... Could have at least killed one of his guys.
