Zhonghua Wenming Jinian - The Annals of the Chinese Civilization

Current plan:
Don't starve out any GPs. Ximen will hit the 201 GP threshhold in 8 turns off of running 2 Scientists 1 Engineer, while Yanggang will reach 268 in 15 turns running 1 Priest 1 Engineer, to maximize the Prophet/Taj chances. After that, just use the National Epic to slow-produce other GPs.

Or... swap into Caste System, hire 4 Scientists 1 Engineer in Ximen with a -1 Food Surplus. Produce a Great Scientist in 5 turns, bulb Philosophy, and swap into Pacifism for more GP fun. Yes.

I popped the Golden Age, 0% gold accumulation went up from 80 GPT to 180 GPT jive

New plan:

Bulb Philosophy, pop the 268 GPP Engineer out of Ancheng, direct-research Nationalism, and whack out the Taj. Draft Maces for military security, then conquer Sian. Spend the Golden Age churning out Workers, Settlers, Missionaries, and religious junk. Yes.

Tentative tech path: Alphabet->Paper->Machinery->Nationalism.

I wonder if I'm chasing three rabbits (military, Taj, Monk Economy) and losing all of them... military-wise, Bob's not posing any threat. He's still 4th in Power. I have a scouting Chariot, and he has 3 Holkans 1 Axe defending his frontline. I'm not expecting any competition for Sankore, except Yuedao finishes Sistine in 3 turns and I want to get started on the next wonder in line.

Pulling up an old picture, alternate dotmap:

Now, there's only one frontline city with Jowy, so I don't have to worry about being forked.

Bob got a Great Engineer. There don't seem to be many good wonders left for him to rush before the Taj...

Alphabet came in. Let's see where we stand on the tech chart...

Too tired to parse right now, but it's looking pretty good. The only major tech deficit is that Mardoc has Engineering and Feudalism - I bet he's going to Knight rush Jowy.

-Jowy seems to be flubbing, not much beyond Code of Laws.
-Bob doesn't have Horseback Riding, but he does have Construction. Time to build fewer Spears and more Horse Archers. He doesn't have Civil Service or Paper, so I think I can still get Sankore.

This turn, besides being T100, was relatively uneventful.

Sian is going for the 'settler on a distant island' approach:

If only he brought an Axeman...

The National Epic completed in Meiyuan:

In domestic news, I queued up Markets. I believe my cottages have grown enough for them to be worthwhile. 41/100 hammers for a 2-pop whip or bust!

In expansion news, I have 16 cities, 21 Workers, and will settle new cities T104 and T106. I need more Workers, especially to claw through all that jungle.

In tech news, hurr durr, I should be heading for Liberalism. Paper, either Great Scientist to bulb Education or Great Artist to keep the Golden Age running coming down the line, no one else has Civil Service, I'm AHEAD of my neighbors in military...

The important graphs worth looking at:

Let's see if Mardoc really does go for a Knight rush...

In domestic news, stored cash for Philosophy, should have enough to one-turn it next turn. Let's get Sankore rolling:

The latest Sianic activity:

In foreign news, I asked for Map Swaps from everybody. Jowy made peace with Sian. Bob picked up Feudalism and Mardoc picked up Guilds.

Knight rush on Jowy, come on... I think Jowy will be able to defend himself enough that Mardoc won't be able to make much progress. Well, hope, at least.

Golden Age economies are scary.

Popped a Great Artist. Founded Taoism in Ximen, making me wonder if I should start spreading it around for more shrine money. Probably not - there's enough happiness on this map already.

We're looking at a T111 Engineer with Pacifism (8 turns), and a T115 Engineer without (12 turns). Education or Nationalism (same cost) will take ~7 turns to research, and Liberalism will take ~5.

Either I swap to Pacifism and straight-research Nationalism, or stay in Organized Religion for whipping Universities and head for Liberalism. Will decide later.

Toying with heading for Corporations instead of State Property, as Corps aren't banned here.

I overestimated the time to Liberalism; Education will take ~5 turns while Liberalism will take ~4. That means I swapped to Pacifism. Let's get this 27 turn Golden Age a-rolling!

Mankante (Malcanthet) was settled:

Jowy offered this helpful trade:

Started whacking down the Forbidden Palace:

Why Bob is second place:

(We both have 17 cities)

Why I'm still in first place:

(Dominating Crop Yield)

What I'm doing to ensure that I stay there:

Why Mardoc is going to end up in third place:

Notes to self: why aren't I settling more cities?
1. Settlers - whip out of Ancheng.
2. Workers - all my workers are heading into the jungle.
3. Military - don't have enough Cats/HA in the jungle. Reroute new units from Yanzhuang there.
4. Missionaries - crank them out of Yanggang while I'm not in Organized Religion.

This turn was extremely boring. Education in 3 turns. I probably won't go completely nuts whipping Universities - too expensive.

Bob picked up Theology:

Probably going to Great Engineer the AP for denial purposes.

Note to self: shift EPs to Bob so that I can get city visibility on him.
