Thanks for the detailed reports, Archduke! I really appreciated your retrospective, too.
I remember during the game, for the first couple of dozen turns you were once again lagging behind the pack in development, and I thought that you hadn't learned much from your previous two PBEMs (although I want to emphasize that you're a much better player than I am!). But then, right around the time Singaboy was invading Norway, you launched your Operation Sudden Strike and turned your empire into a powerhouse, then all but annihilated Singaboy in one war. It was a shocking turnaround to watch! I also believe that you never lost a major battle in the entire game - the only reason you lost was being overwhelmed by strategic developments elsewhere. Overall, I just wanted to say how much I'm impressed by your meteoric improvement in every game you play.
You already answered a lot of my questions in your retrospective, so I just have one left - after you gained Norway, and oledavy immediately switched to being hostile towards you (with a brand new VA nearing completion), why did you settle on invading Singaboy again instead of striking towards the head of the snake with Woden? My biggest strategic worry in the second half of the game was an unstoppable GA-led English fleet beelining for the VA city and razing it to the ground. I'm just curious why you rejected this plan, and went after Germany again instead.
(PS - Dave also listed electricity as his biggest mistake. Next naval game that happens, it'll be interesting to see if anyone beelines that again!)
