Took a quick look. I think we might be making a minor management mistake up here. Or at least something we should think about.
Right now Packers is forcing a Caste artists. However, Lions popping borders would get the clams for Packers, and it would also unlock its own clam. Packers then wouldn't need to force a Caste artists. Granted, we'd probably want to pop Packers eventually, but we wouldn't actually need to for awhile. It might still be the right call to do that now since popping borders opens up several chops, but I just wanted to make sure you were taking that into account. Any specific thoughts on this? Everything else looks pretty straight-forward. I think I'm done for the night, I'm a little too out of it to play the turn now. If you don't play later tonight, I can probably get it tomorrow at lunch time.
I got in and played the turn, and up until the very last unit to move it was okay. I moved that last unit and ...
Of course it has to be that galley Is it too late to attack Commodore? Knights could do wonders against him, I'm sure I killed research so we can upgrade the archer to a crossbow and I swapped to a second archer. I didn't swap tiles at Boilermakers -- we can get the zerker in 3t if we do -- and I didn't end turn.

Interesting that Commo has not built (or at least moved) any navy out of Regina until recently or you would have seen it before now. Obviously you're concerned that he might try to snipe Valiants, hence swapping to archer just in case.
I have been trying to figure out a way to ask a question in a way that is not leading (to an incorrect conclusion even!) and failing, so I guess I will have to leave it at that. Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon
Scooter, i'll leave it to you for the final call on defending Valiants. I think raising money to upgrade the archer to an xbow and building a second archer is right - maybe a spear is better but it will take 3 turns to the archer's 2. So if he's going in an archer is all we can build in time.
The galley has an extra two moves still so put it where seems best Edit: we could move the archer out of Boilermakers, but i think that's a 3-turn ourney

Okay, let's look at this:
I think we're actually fine here. First, it's a 2 movement galley, not a 3 mover. So he definitely can't directly boat Valiants from there. Second, it's 4 tiles exactly from Regina (2T of movement) so no signs of him slowing down to line up onto the right tile. So I don't think he's planning anything there. When Commodore tries stuff like that, it's usually more clever than that. Anyway, if theoretically he has 2 units on it, while he can't directly boat Valiants, it's not possible to prevent him from hypothetically landing 2 units on Big East. So with that in mind I just moved 1S and left it at that. Who knows, maybe we'll even freak him out as much as he freaked you out since 1S is a spot that could hit Regina . I'm good with an archer build to be safe. We'll need one anyway. And I left science off too so that emergency upgrades is an option. But overall I'm not too worried. Suttree's gone next it seems.
Also, notice just below the interface that Mackoti was able to move his capital to the insaaane city "plainfood"... It has something like 8ish floodplains, a gold, and a PLAINS oasis, and an extra food resource. Welp, hopefully Plako intends to do something to slow him down later in the game.
If Comm was just moving his galley as normal then why is it pointed NE instead of straight East? The only reason is to stay hidden. I don't think this is a full invasion but i do think that like earlier he is hoping to grab a city in a quick cheap shot
Also, where's our plains oasis tile, mapmaker?
