The trick to "unload and move" is to leave the promotion unused until after unloading. Then promote to Morale and move. Works once per GG.
It's somewhat rare in BTS due to the GG requirement but it's common in FFH due to universal access to Mobility 1 and Haste spells.

Thanks Thoth. Learning all the things.
Speaking of learning things, how long can enemy units hang out in ocean after the culture goes away. I remember this being answered in some past thread, but I can't remember the answer or which game let alone thread.

Listen I renamed the northern city a couple turns ago, but there hasn't been a lot to report.
Ramk performed some more black magic. Even though they are 4 movers there isn't a way for them to be on tiles they are on without me having seen them last turn. Ya knew both of these existed, but very surprised still. I was barely able to get enough defenders in DirtyOldTown by cancelling open borders with Charriu and getting that chariot back. I had a trireme patrolling in Charriu seas while I waited for a world exploring workboat to return, but with 4 movement I kind of expected him to be able to avoid, but still interested in their current position. He did delete a worker that was 1 turn from finishing chop on that jungle.
Anyways, dry whipped a trireme this turn as it will be only turn I can guarantee hit his weakened trireme if he pillages net (53% odds to win, so I auto lose vs Ramk). Obviously delays my golden age, but whats new. DirtyOldTown is going to 3 pop whip a forge for those curious as to why its working a bare grassland....... I also did redo tiles at OldBillyRilley after screenshot.
Mig has a scout in my lands; I'm actually hiding my stack atm as its pathetic and I'm mainly waiting for GKC to dive in first anyways. Hopefully can get some Carracks out. Mig just got Taj so not sure really needs colossus anymore........ Civac has paper at least so hopefully a threat to Mig? I'm trying to trade maps with anyone to try to find some astro islands that I don't have production to defend, settle, and can't trade with. I'm Portugal, I'll be damn if I don't try lol. There are 4 people with paper currently and I'm assuming at least 3 of them went for Galleons. Mind you I'm in a war I've been in since what the dawn of time it feels like. Market in capital will vastly help. The happy alone will be much appreciated. Optics will also be a nice happy and GNP boost.
WorstOldShip will be re-founded next turn finally. I also realized I should have resettled Donkey Riding 1NW of its old location, but I wasn't thinking the best that turn so you will have to forgive me.
Hurry up and strike the bell! You can see its going to blow!!!!!

A little late, but got interrupted playing, then had to finish in the morning, then lost power. Two posts.
Since neither GKC or Ramk are reporting here is slaughter of GKC as brought to you by my WAY too curious chariot.
Invading into cats is hard....... I'm not sure if GKC had his stack split or not, last I saw it was though, which might explain part of this. I'm also still somewhat confused why attack with a giant stack of keshiks when he had knights so close, like if he had combined the two stacks then Ramk can't just keep killing and promoting. As a reminder Ramk is doing all this without elephants.......
I haven't done an empire overview in a hot sec. While my city count is nice, very few of them are doing anything...... Between razes and new I can confidently say I'm the weakest not currently dying civ. ... ... ... Yet.
For reasons not entirely clear Charriu decided to go after Lazteuq instead of me (to be fair Lazteuq didn't have a power increase after Charriu's started and they did tussle earlier). I'm basically dead if Mig decides to sneeze / obsolete colossus. I'm hoping him and Civac get in a tussle.
Even in current turn I'm a little torn if I am sending 1 settler to the winds or settling filler spots. I'm leaning filler because I just couldn't defend if literally any galleon loaded with non classic era troops came along.
So some of you may see a small stack of 6 units that were going to raze a Ramk city. Anyone guess what is wrong with that idea? Find out as soon as my next post!

My 1 cat started things off as normal vs Ramk. City raider 20% chance and had a flawless loss vs archer. Now this was the turn I played on my old laptop with poor battery so instead of going to Vodka I just um went for it...... AND WON 3 SUB 50% BATTLES IN A ROW!!!!! (15% and two 40%s)
Of course I needed to do in this fashion because as many of you probably correctly surmised you can't raze a city where you have dominant culture which is why I had city vision. I knew I had city vision because of culture, I knew the city raze rule, and I just didn't connect the two . Borders did instantly repop to second ring though so I have excellent vision.
Anyways I hadn't planed on taking it so army wasn't in position, so I've been a little slow, but evidently I'm invading. Ramk didn't show up this turn so even if fully healed I get first strike with cats. He also needs to beware of GKC still. Hopefully unlike last time GKC doesn't peace out. I do wish GKC had given me more warning. I thought I had more time.
I am making up for lack of transport by upgrading triremes to Carracks!!!!! WOOO USING UU WOOOOOO!!!!! Northern little faint at cities (which would have been maybe effective 1 turn sooner had GKC warned me) are going back to D just in case Ramk does a dive and leaving some units behind.
Only other thing of note is that Ramk's 4 move galley escaped after trireme sacrificed. To my knowledge Ramk has this galley empty and then 1 more galley possible with 2 units on it left in the seas.
Oh circumnavigation trade routes are just stupid. My gpt went up by 70ish......

I should take Jaz Murian next turn. Which is the last "safe" city to attack. Will leave Ramk at 4 core cities.
Not why I'm reporting. Both Charriu and Mig made peace in their respective wars. Every turn I check Migs tech and still no astro yet, but with his power I'm surprised he made peace. Its possible he wants Elkad to spend his troops on Civac first though. .
Also reporting because neither Ramk nor GKC is. GKC is sending small knight stacks / solo knights around pillaging Ramk. Ramk actually stopped his research on HBR because of this I assume. He did group 5 of them together and if he keeps grouped up this turn, I would expect 5 dead knights next turn.
I've also been exploring outside of Astro island between my island and Mig island. FOUND THE JUNGLE!!!!! Which is relevant because it reduces chances people want to take more than 1.
I have a settler next to Whiskey to steal its pig next turn, but but its soooooo tempting!!!!!! I'm currently going to see if the canal Lazteuq built is still in operation. The astro island I would take is of course the one between our island and TBS/DZ who seems to be major power on that island but also has been at war forever and does not have paper. Ya ya distance maintenance be bad, but I think like a 4 settler lets get off my island just in case squad might be in order.
4 being the optimal number of course because unlike anyone else settling astro islands I don't have trade routes outside of the island; therefore each city will have its full 3 1gpt trade routes...... My plan WAY WAY back before I got razed into the stone age was during first golden age to get a scientist to help get to astro (as trade routes from don't require paper). Probably still the plan, but golden age is still 17 turns away. If I haven't been invaded by then I'll consider myself lucky.
Oh mig also got liberalism, although since I've only been checking for astronomy I have no clue what he bulbed, still having a tech leader (the tech leader?) right next door is awkward.

I realized last time I should just always have a song. Why else does anyone click on this thread. Lots of versions of this one. This version starts out slow, but I really like as it goes on. Anyways renamed Ramk's city.
Astronomy holders that I can see:
Mig - I gave a map to Civac and he sent me a message to go to war with, which I'm taking as Mig is going to be attacking. His Galleons are currently settling astro island. Not sure how much time I have, but I turned on tech last turn. I should have medieval units at least........ 12th in GNP with tech on!!!! Man I need like 21 turns (13T to GA and then 8 turns of). At least the new island cities are starting to get up to whipping units like mad.......
Civac - Would be good news, but except his direct neighbor is Cornflakes who I'm personally rooting for to get me out of this game alive!
Mr Cairo - don't care
Frozen - don't care
Ichabod - don't care
Egypt on continent to east is only one who hasn't been in eternal war and doesn't have paper, so good there.
Lazteuq - WAIT WHAT!!!! . I guess not building military and barely being in conflict despite being aggressive had to result in something....... THIS IS BAD!!!! I can only hope he is distracted by the Charriu city with units in it he should be hitting. I'm surprised Charriu kept.
I have to decide what I'm doing with 2nd settler meant for astro island. I might just settle a filler. Have 1 on the way so maybe at least Lazteuq lets me have 1 city to keep me alive just in case like.........
I moved a Carrack to block Ramk's fish a few turns ago by GKC/Ramk wine island and GKC came up 1 unit short of taking / razing (would have had to). If I had had 1 unit on board I could have razed, but alas. Ramk then cleaned up GKC remaining stack by using a GG. I think he accidentally (maybe had to) put experience into trireme hiding in city which sallied out to kill a GKC trireme. Also bought him 1 turn of fish to be fair.
GKC is playing SUPER short turns, but this turn a bunch of knights appeared so here is hoping. Ramk has been playing longer than GKC plus me combined.
Charriu cancelled our fish for fish. Possible just didn't want it advertised. I don't see anything.......
Quesiton: can you not use other people's canals? I'm assuming not based on this turn.

You can use other people's canal cities as canals (assuming Open Borders) but other people's forts won't work.

Someone has to report besides Mig. I can at least offer songs. I actually decided on the not horrifically depressing one and instead went with one inspired by a failed Irish revolution...... Its not even technically a sea shanty but listen I get to decide what songs get to be included and this was in a sea shanty compilation someone else put together so I'm counting.
So I did decide to settle filler city on peninsula for a little more cultural depth and to keep all the good tiles there worked.
Not why I'm reporting however.
After letting GKC take hits I'm finally moving in first. Took a bit and had to research engineering instead of Feudalism. Both to get units in ships last turn and then give me a turn of surprise on Ramk. I unloaded 8 units through the port this turn so I really had to run a tight ship timing wise (go go carracks). I also used my gg for a sentry chariot (put on axe to create medic) and to give some 9 other units some needed promos.
So I mentioned GKC power spike. Ya that wasn't an accident. I saw GKC not producing anything, rallying anything, and playing really short turns, so I started a count down to him 5 turns ago. Sure enough turn after I sent he had whipped a knight in every city I could see. Still short turns but I expect him to go in next turn with 20 knights at least (have a mentioned how scary it is he could just assemble that on a dime).
Ramk did move a northern mini stack last turn after being stationary for a long time...... It wouldn't be in range to hit me this turn. Looking at the power graph I just don't think Ramk can stop attack this in time, but I'm sure that's what GKC thought. At least this time we should be working together. Still deciding if I keep or raze and resettle later. I should have enough to keep, but I'm just super cautious when it comes to Ramk. That spear in Row Bully Boys is specifically in case of a morale chariot. I had to swap units all the way from Charriu border city of DirtyOldTown through Jack for that 1 paranoid spear.
I also did a little bit of diplo this turn. Sent Civac map to show him Mig settling astro island, but also hope this is pretty clear.
If he attacks Cornflakes he is just giving up to Mig and Mig will take everything of mine. Cornflakes did birth an artist this turn. Don't sacrifice yourself and me CIVAC PLEASE!!!!
Edit: shout out to Thoth for answering my questions btw.

Reload request:
You know how I was paranoid of a morale unit. Ya he had one but it was a crossbow (I think I maybe knew that and forgot).
Anyways I made not one but two missclicks. The first one I'll keep, but the second one is SOOOOO stupid.
I meant to split my stack, but evidently I double clicked on it and it got regrouped or something so instead of leaving units to cover my workers in his territory. Instead I put them in boats; annoying as I have to delay advance, but like I said I'll keep this missclick if there a reload.
I HAD a spear in RowBullyBoys, but obviously needed another defender. So using Carraacks (go go carracks) I chained in one from Maoi. I then evidently loaded instead of unloaded.................. This was a clear missclick where I meant to unload the archer. I then obvioiusly moved the galley out for future chains as needed with the now loaded units on board. Of course this was the last boat I moved.......
Alternatively if any lurker knows how to switch units between loaded ships the carrack does have 1 move left on it.
Edit: guess I'm eating it. The solution of course is to delete a worker. Still sucks.
