Okay, let's see if I can't get back on the turn updating wagon:

First off, this happened:

I suppose the lesson here is if you want something, you need to go all out. Batting both the Music GA and the GL was too muh to hope for. Fortunately, I only wasted two chops into the GL so far.

I took the 96 failgold, and put the chops into one-turning a worker.

Pindicator IV just whipped a HA for max overflow, and next turn starts a settler with a chop coming in. StN's scout has been snooping around our western border, but hasn't come close enough to kill. We've seen nothing of Sian since he killed our archer, except he does have a lone archer scouting around to the east.

Oh, and Commodore, you're a bastard :neenernee

It's looking like there may be nothing but a sea in the middle of the map, with lots of peninsulas poking into it.

StN started out by researching music:

I need help deciding where and when to plant cities.

I have a general idea of how i would like to expand, but would love to hear some second opinions on where and when to settle. Right now we have:

4 workers
2 archers
1 horse archer

Let me know what you guys think!

End Turn.

Apologies again for letting my ded-lurkers down frown Hopefully, I'll be updating regularly from here on out.

I just remembered, the guy got killed for staying on target:

Which city will get the great artist again?

Bah, details. I'm a big picture sort of guy wink.

I've been pondering your map, but I haven't reached any conclusions yet. Just a basic principle of settle for the strong cities first, that'll give you the production you need to have both a military and the filler cities.

We haven't decided yet, though probably towards Shoot to guarantee a safe front.

I'm not sure my comments are still relevant, given the delay, but here's my thinking anyway.

First city should absolutely be the PH 2xbanana/cow site you have picked out. It needs a fair bit of worker labor, but it's a beautiful site.

I think second city is probably your wheat iron in the west.

After that it's trickier. I think the Pigs is probably the next strongest, although I'd be tempted to move your City? one N. After that, it feels like we should balance things out by expanding toward Shoot, only I don't see any sites that I want! lol Maybe more scouting in that direction? I think I can agree with the wheat/fish, as the best of a bad lot. I don't see the right spot to use your GArt, though - stick it in a coastal city and you waste a lot of the controlled tiles.

Probably once you've picked your first few sites, it'll be time to dotmap again. Tentatively I like the plains 1N of the elephant, then a couple more coastal cities and grabbing some islands.

As for exact timings - that depends entirely on the military situation. Given that you're planning

Land you don't want now, but will want later, is the perfect place to set off the artist. I can't offer specific settling advice, but in general, maybe settle a reasonable city toward StN and use the bomb to save the land for later. Then spend the rest of your settlers toward Sian.

Dave, this thread has fallen off the first page of my subscriptions. Is the game still moving?

Game is still moving. I know I'm sounding like a broken record now, but I promise I'll get back to updating the next time it rolls around.
