Any possible way NoGas blow this one?

Is "Require Complete Kills" on? That would be funny - if Yuri had a settler on a galleon somewhere floating around

What would be the rego scale disappointment for Yuris if he had to log in every turn to row, row, row his boat? banghead

Would we have to create a Yuris scale of frusturation?
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.

1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.

2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.

3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.

4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.

No way - that wouldn't even register. I might give Gaspar about a 0.03 if they had to suffer through tons of WW and homeland anger to try and find his boat

This game illustrates another peril of war - gaining a gamelong enemy who will turn on you once they have no better way to play for a win. NoGas are now benefitting from their initial position, where they could sit back in safety and watch the other players tear each other to pieces.

Very good showing by NoGas so far. Of course if Dave and Yuri had swapped places things could have looked a bit different.
I have to run.

The irony in Mist's banter thread post is overwhelming. His shot at winning disappeared when he let Davy recover and started a 2nd war for no real benefit.

Everyone thinks their starting position is weaker than average lol. Does anybody even remember that this was supposed to be automatically balanced Pangaea.

More seriously I think main balance problem of the map was that Mistabod had a bit too good land and place to move their capital. Otherwise I think positives and negatives on other places were even enough.

While Gaspar is currently ahead, I wouldn't put it past Commodore to catch up using Corporations. It should be quite possible for Commodore to stall Gaspar out long enough for the corps to really start making a difference.

If I were Commodore I would spread Mining Inc to Dave and Mist.
