[SPOILERS] SevenSpirits trashes three estates and a copper

I would probably go with 3 or worker kill. When/if Dazed asks for a rollback, it will become public knowledge anyways, right?
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.

1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.

2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.

3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.

4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.

I say do it. I razed one of Sareln's cities after he left it undefended in 18, because he didn't know I had Woodsman II units.

Of course, the difference is I spent alot of time setting up that attack.

Krill Wrote:Kill the worker. You'll probably feel better for doing it and have more fun in the long run.

Then raze the city next turn. wink
I have to run.

Frankly, if he's playing so fast he didn't notice this, that doesn't bode well for the balance of the game anyway. And when someone's checked out of a game, the other players fight for the scraps, right?

Or maybe he's broke and not in slavery?
I have to run.

Kill the city.you dont have to play week if someone does. Its an AW game and what you gain it just the money, and in all games ae players which are trailing behind.

Seems evident he didn't see your Chariot. There is no right or wrong answer here, but I like Krill's suggestion. It gives little punishement for not paying attention, but does not totally ruin his game because of a mistake that anyone of us could make if forced to play in a haste. Also I wouldn't blame you for trying to raze that city either. Ruthless, but similar mistakes has been made and punished earlier (e.g. in Pitboss 7 TwinkleToes against Lord Parkin). In a map like this it wouldn't unbalance the game even much since everyone is neighboring everyone.

Thank you everyone for the comments. Aside from learning the strange fact that almost everyone except Krill is a bastard, I've made my decision.

I will raze it. If Dazed asks for a do-over, I will support it. Why this choice? I believe the only way to fairly deal with "incorrect" play is to put the onus of requesting a takeback on the person who played "incorrectly". They are the one in the best position to judge if it's a massive outlier that could ruin the game, or simply an expected result of their play.

In this case in particular, Dazed has not updated his thread in two months, regularly has the save for 14 hours, and doesn't seem to be putting much into the game. The fact is that someone playing like this WILL make some really bad mistakes - like this one. Should it so happen that he feels undeserving of such a punishment for his lack of attention, and feels it strongly enough to bring it up, then I'll trust his judgment in that. However, my default position will be to treat other players' play as valid.

Now watch the chariot lose that fight. smile

Not a fun turn for Dazed. I razed his capital. Yes that area to the west of your start is dangerous, especially because of the pre-built road. I've been watching my mirror of it from the start of the game (and having units able to respond to an emergency) until I was able to settle the furs.

I also blockaded his island city, cutting it off from his trade network. -1 in every city and -2 or -4 in the island city itself.

Got Metal Casting and Shwedagon Paya this turn. National Epic is due in 1t, Civil Service is due in 3t and Moai Statues in 4t. Then let's have a golden age?

I don't consider taking that action as a bastard move considering the settings (AW and no diplo). You just had the opportunity. You either take advantage of that or don't. You have to act as a player. If you somehow see it as dazed having a problem to play his game then you should, as a player, suggest a replacement, but I don't think it's that extreme what's happening. DazedRoyalty just needed a little "reminder" to stay competitive.

Now, blockading a 1 sized city with a galley for the sake of it? Duude, that's just mean. smile
