On 4.
I know I was talking about that - I think sandboxes are really easy to make, and will make one if Lewwyn hasn't already (though I have no intention of simming ) and you want me to.

sure, that would be very useful. Lewwyn prefers to sim with an abacus, and I find them really tedious to make.

Jester wardecced to get vision on our cap and offered peace. I accepted because why not. He teleported NW. Here's Azza's cap.
Oh and Jester revolted to slavery. Did he pop a hut or tech it? He's FIN so it would make sense if he teched it. But he's not SPI so why revolt now?

Does Jester start with fishing?

We have copper.
This is slightly unfriendly I would have liked copper towards Azza or closer to food other than the fish. Now I think we have to consider our first city being NOT for copper. Otherwise we will need to tech fishing. BW>Hunting it the correct call for this start but now we need Wheel and Fishing to make our copper city viable and we simply are not teching that fast. If only we'd gotten a tech in a hut. We would have been in much better shape. Eventually that free gold is going to turn into free tech but we are hurting at the start here.
We will not be chasing religion or Oracle.
Especially since:
Damnit. Azza can settle his copper and be coastal to get the clams. He has incentive to settle at least a little towards us and eventually try to claim those pigs south of us. He's Joao so he'll have workers and settlers quickly. This is just not great at all. Especially if Azza has teched BW. However he started with Fishing and Agr so he may have teched AH. God I hope he doesn't have horses. He may have teched mining and is going for BW.
We won't get hunting fast enough to pasture after chop. We have two options. Chop/mine the Forested Grass Hill and then pasture. Or chop two forests before pasturing.
I'm also considering we should build two warriors and send both to guard Azza's copper. Or choke him. Whichever. In this case I'd prefer the mine/chop over the two chops and grow to 3 in 7 turns. We would not be putting any hammers into a worker during this time though.
So we have to think about this (we have 1 turn to decide) and we have to think about whether we go copper or gems site first. I'm leaning gems site because it can share piggies and get up faster. That way we have tome to get Fishing before we plant for the Copper.
I sorta wish we were Agg.

Though I guess fishing doesn't matter if we plant 1S of the copper. I was considering 1SE though. But even then fish is second ring and we'd need a monument (Mysticism) or barracks (expensive).
Should we pink dot Azza's copper instead?

calm down, heh.
I guess settling azza's copper spot is out of the question? hehe.
I agree w/ gems spot next. will give us time to get fishing. but we need 3 cities asap, really.
I don't think azza will be more agressive than he has to be. Is the oracle really out of the question?
If so, how long do you think it would take us to research machinery the hard way? have you considered trying to be friendly until we have cho-kos, then crushing more developed tterrain w/ basically 6 power cats that can kill .
that said, I don't mind stalking his copper either. try to reveal most of his BFC so we can see with tile yields if he has horses. if he doesn't, we could hold him off for awhile w/ just warriors.

great minds think alike (I cross posted), although it seems to be a bit far .
if we plant 1s of copper we can just get hunting and the wheel, then axe rush him. use warriors to block him from his copper.
I still don't think thats worth waiting on the gems city for, though. how fast can we get out 2 settlers?

What about settling 1W of the copper, to share the pigs and (eventually) pop for the gems?
I think I prefer warrior choking/mining over two forests, especially if we go gems.

That's fine. Gems will help tech as well.
Maybe we should try to peaceful with Azza.
We don't need Oracle to get machinery. We can slow tech MC, build a forge and work and engineer to bulb Machinery.
I don't think he'll have horses in the BFC. So far the map looks very balanced in terms of strat resources. Note our copper and Azza's copper + Our ivory and Azza's Ivory.
