PBEM 64 beat us to turn 10 (probably my fault due to stopping our turn spree last Sunday)...
Opened the save, hit enter, forwarded it. Mardoc got another 6 points on the scoreboard and 2k power, this can't be bronze already (considering he also researched hunting afaik), but what else then? Also, somebody is on 6 food already, which means he is working the pastured sheep. Smart move, because the pasture is 1t faster than the farm.
Also, if I try my oracle qualities... (PBEM 64 spoiler):

So, our mapmaker doesn't assume capital copper a natural thing. In other threads he also expressed that he is not quite that fond of "balanced" maps as other people are. And we already saw that he likes to play with marble/fur iceballs. So we may get surprised by the copper location. Could it even be across the channel, considering we don't need early defense on our island?
As you see, the turn left me bored
If we have copper in reach of our first 2 cities, I am in favour of connecting it (if possible, we don't have roads). While the current micro plan is for a worker, a strong defense could help over there. While we don't have barbs on the island, on the mainland they have all that turns to spawn pacefully...
We may also get horses next turn. I'd also prefer a chariot over the warrior. How probable are barb spears by turn ~ 40 on quick speed?

The same applies to galleys btw.
... so when we get over there, we can expect axes, spears and chariots walking around?
Played T11 a couple of hours ago. Demos/score/top5 cities revealed that just Alhazard grew to size 2 this turn (besides us). He also got a tech and soldier count went up (how much power is BW?). We stay anti-militaristic with 2k power, but that is finally going to change next turn when AH comes in.
The leader crop yield is Al working corn + unpastured sheep (?, at least it's 2 food), the same as we are doing now (the demos are from before EoT, when we got size 2).
So, one of Mardoc/THH is working a corns farm now, but delayed growth, the other is on a 3-food tile, which can only be the unimproved floodplains. But he should have either the corn or the sheep improved by now...
The main problem we'll face on the mainland is that we can't expect to face only axes like would happen in most games, but I doubt we'll get anything more than warriors in the very beginning. Basically an axe/chariot pair should be enough defense in the early stage.
BW is 8k I think.
THH got a late worker for not being exp, he may not have the corn yet (or needs the commerce to get a tech on time).
I looked at the new save and pressed enter to see if we had horse. We do, but it's in the far north of the island (the tile the scout is on, on the first screenshot of post 123).
ok, so the screenshot I prepared won't bring you any news. Posting it anyways (also visible: a furry friend roaring from across the channel - our first barbarian contact)
I think I have read posts here referring to this kind of resource placement as "Commodorian". I guess candidates for copper are the tundra hill at green dot (that would be great, but we will not be able to connect it before the galley comes out), the desert hill in the SW, or the tundra tile in the west.
Demos; 1 city is still size one, but everybody is working improved tiles by now. My interpretation is that Mardoc is building a worker (hence the 4 MFG), doesn't matter anyways.
Played turn 13; we are pasturing the sheep and meanwhile working the lake for a little extra commerce - fishing is power! Mardoc still on size one, seems like he wants to finish that worker?
