Sorry I just got home, missed you by a couple minutes it looks like. I should be available to play the next turn with you tomorrow, around 9 your time. This is the last week of classes and then I'll be freer.
I think we need a few more up there, yes. 2 on the boat 2 overland, and maybe an extra spear in each border city. I need to log in to see it.

Okay so I played the turn, took me a while of just staring at the game to get things going in my head. Moved some workers onto jungles, marked some future roads around Lundy:
Here you can see I moved off the forest. The CKN finishes this turn, so I figure we should save the chop? What do you think we should use the chops for? More units? Also I started a workshop over by Gerald on the new Grass along the coast. Can that get irrigation through the city if the city is on a hill? I also whipped the unit is Laffont off of a forest.
Also note the warrior I'm moving down to the capital from Anderson in the top right. We may need more spears on the Gav front:
Elephants. Also that sentry chariot, can he see over the jungle? How far?
Note the techs. TBS is getting astronomy this turn... ugh. Comm is 2t from Optics, Gav is going for Metal Casting. I set our tech to gold. CS looks like it will take 7t.
Demos:
Power graph:
Gav's Espionage graph is kind of scary:
Gav's EPs with us:
It costs 119% to get EPs with Gav so it looks like he might be focusing on us. With the Holy City he should be able to get city vision more easily. I will check the EPs to see how many per trun he's sinking on us.
I will log in quickly when the turn rolls and move the new CKN out of Dalmeier and the new galley out of Gleiscer so Gav doesn't see them. Should I play the full turn this afternoon too when it rolls? I should have time.

First off, thanks for playing the turn Lewwyn! I may be a bit drunk right now because holy shit we just won the national champsionship!!!!
That said...
Lundy: really glad you moved the worker off that forest. I had no idea what to do with this worker and had no obvious places to put him (he had just finished the hill to the west) so I figured I coudl at least pre-chop that forest. As for what we do with those chops later .... either there's a wonder we push for, or maybe a National Wonder ... or perhaps a universityi down the line. I don't think there's any reason to use those on units .... right now.
Gavagai Sentry Chariot: Damn, why is he getting wise to us now? I suppose the Commodore attack really set him up towards thinking about us. But really, anybody who knows our borders knows that he is really the ONLY place we have for expansion. So he may just be deducing this on his own. Still, I think Commodore's attack is doing us no favors now. As for his range, I really don't know the mechanics here. (Suppose I could worldbuilder this, but ... well, drinking.) My guess is you just add 1 to sight everywhere so I would expect him to be able to see over that hill.
Is there anywhere else we could also try to launch an attack from on the mainland?
Technologies: Anywhere we can build gold? Probably not, we still need units. Interesting that the two neighbors are going for naval techs though and not guilds
Espionage: I wonder if he's putting a little bit of slider into us for more espionage. I'd just give up on all pretense now and focus on him 100% on the EP screen. At least, maybe we wait to see what his increase is next turn; and if it looks like he's hammering on us then we just go all out on him.

No problem, Congrats! Glad I played the turn.
Workers should be fine.
I'm not sure why exactly why Gav is wise, it could be the Comm attack for sure. Could it be OT4E's comment in Gav's thread? We'll keep an eye on EPs. I'm not too worried overland, there's no other place... except maybe through Comm's land? DO we want to consider that? DO we have enough time? OR could we build a road 1 East of the jungle and a road NW of that, land on jungle have chariots in range.
No gold builds yet.

Comm's land is decidedly worse for a few reasons:
1. No galley negates our sea advantage
2. Legions are much better than War Chariots,
3. Less of a prize (no shrine to take)
4. Even if we are successful, we get worse and more elongated borders than if we are successful vs. Gav
Yeah, I can't think of any Gold builds either. Distant cities can build spears for the TBS border or Horse Archers for the war. And even Peiffer can get out some triremes for defense against TBS (I want to get 2 for now and then finish that infra)

Oh I meant, walk an arm through comm's land.

You could do that but there aren't any juicy prizes on that border. It sure would signal to Comm what was going on and hopefully entice him to pile on. More likely he techs away though ...

We could keep the original plan, and just use the main stack as a diversion for the naval force. Maybe have them advance a little farther south and go on turn 130? Will need to look at it tonight to see if this is possible

Okay I played the turn. We can still discuss everything, I just went in to check a few things and ended up playing it.
I did a lot of planning.
I couldn't log in before Gav this turn because he went in almost directly after the turn rolled so he might have seen the galley and the CKN in Dahmeir. I left the CKN in Dahmeir as its easily explained away. Another CKN will finish EOT130 which can invade with the group T131. good timing.
Lot's of new signs. We need the jungle worker to road that tile for overland invasion T131, then we need 2 more workers to go with the invasion force, and road the mine on t132 so that when we take the city on T132, we can move spears and CKN directly into the city immediately that turn. I've tapped the worker by Lundy to go to the 1/3 chopped forest by the cap, put a turn in to the chop and then invade with overland T131. Also we will use the worker west of Dalmeier as well.
I marked more farm chains and production cities based on that.
Can he see Gerard? Gerard is on a hill opposite 2 lakes that his culture is next to. I moved units onto boats, but don't stage any units in the city, no need anyway.
I want Laffont to go forge now with the overflow from the last whip + there's a chop coming in in 2 turns. It's a production city for sure and this is a good opportunity for the easy forge.
I have units coming down to the boat area. We want more units on the boats for mobility. We whip wust next t130 and it reaches a boat same turn as another CKN.
Whether we should declare T130 and move in a turn early? We could, and we could get 9 units to land that turn instead of 12 on t131.
Is 1 turn of surprise worth 3 units of hitters at Elephantine? We can decide next turn it won't make a difference.

Oh and this is a bit embarrassing. It's been a long time and I forget how to check the event log. You might want to log in to check it...
