Nordic people have FAIR skin.
You can have a MOLE on your skin.
LACE is usually worn next to the skin (and shows some skin when you wear it).
A CRAB has exoskeletal PLATEs instead of skin.

I like the first two a lot, wobbly on LACE.

I finally remembered to start guessing before looking at the spoilers before me.

MOLE is obvious. FAIR looks very likely too. Next best choice I see is that skin is FLAT, at least if you get your mole resolved.

Weaker connections: you might use a makeup BRUSH on your skin, you might wear a LACE garment on your skin, you might use a BAR of soap on your skin.

Definitely MOLE and FAIR. Third word is a bit more of a stretch but I lean FLAT, which is fortunately not something powerful

I think either flat or lace for the last one... I lean lace over flat. Lace may be worn to expose bits of skin. Or skintight clothes.

Two for Flat, two for Lace. I'll make the argument for Flat in that maybe they're equally likely to be blue, but Flat is more likely to be no-worse-than-gray. I think Lace is possible to miss entirely as a connection (or pray the team avoids it), while Flat is something that has to come to mind when mentioning Skin.

I'm not convinced by FLAT. What about goosebumps, hives, and, yes, moles? Skin wraps around arms, legs, heads, torsos, which are anything but flat.

I do have to admit when I think of lace it's usually next to skin.  And we don't seem to have any good arguments one way or another, so tiebreak:
