I missed SATURN as well on the first read, but it feels like a bit of a stretch to me, and I think I still prefer BERLIN for our third word.

Two and two, huh?  El Grillo and Shallow Thought are in favor of BERLINer, JR and me in favor of SATURN.  Everyone considers CROWN and ROULETTE to be unlikely but vaguely possible?

I tried to look at it from the spymaster perspective, but honestly both BERLIN and SATURN have basically the one connection to CHOCOLATE and HOLE - I can't come up with any alternatives that combine all three words.  Can't use torus or ring  for Saturn without missing CHOCOLATE.  And I can't see anything at all that would combine Berlin with the other words if not via the JFK speech (the popular interpretation, specifically - 'I am a jelly donut' may not be how it translated exactly but it's too good a story).

If Saturn was meant then Crown would be unavoidable collateral risk - while if Berlin was meant then maybe there's no collateral.

On the other hand, I'm pretty sure it's not going to get any more clear by further debate - we all agree that BERLIN and SATURN are both possible, just disagree on which is most probable.  The good side is that means we've got a good chance of catching up with our +1's if my gut is the right one.  And also: last game my gut wasn't good, I don't think I was correct any time when I disagreed with the group.

So...

King, QUEEN, and JACK are the face cards in a deck of playing cards.
A king wears a CROWN.
The king is the titular HEAD of the government.
SHIPs are (were?) named HMS (his majesty's ship) in England.
Some kings slew DRAGONs, others offered bounties on them.
The war of the ROSEs was about who should be king.
King is a popular name for a dog, who would BARK.

QUEEN and CROWN are my top two. I don't really have a favorite for the third one, maybe go back to DOG?

Queen, obv.

Crown, also obv.

Jack, reference to playing cards

I favor Head over Dog for our +1, but am a little concerned we didn't get King (4) to include Head of State. Maybe Field instead?

Queen, Crown, and then DRAGON.. are my top 3.
