I took the deal. Then offered Open Borders to Amicalola. The fool better move stuff into my lands if he doesn't want naufrager to get it all anyway.
I'm aiming for some kind of Andorra setup here. Pit Spain against France and survive as the territory neither can conquer without leaving themself open to the other. Except I want to try and be bigger than 1 city.
So here's my promise to naufrager and amicalola alike, from this turn on. If you stab me, the other guy gets it all. EDIT: Well, naufrager is presumably coming in 5 turns anyway. So I don't consider that one a stab.

Turn 095, in the Burning of the Shire
So I managed to get peace from both Amicalola and naufrager. Naufrager is now cautiously moving units through my lands, and is it too much to hope that he is going to actually seek out Amicalola and fight? More likely he doesn't know what is coming from Amicalola and doesn't want to be caught unawares. I probably shouldn't have given him Open Borders, but then again I am hoping giving them both Open Borders will set up a detante.
And I'm still probably going to lose another city next turn
That galley is Old Harry's. I bet it's loaded too. Once again I'm out of position by trying to scramble all my defenses in one direction and leaving myself vulnerable from the other.
Old Harry has had it just about as bad as I and finds himself at 3 cities. I'm really hoping us little guys can stick together. I offered him Open Borders and Fish for Fish.
4 turns until Naufrager can declare
9 turns until Amicalola can declare
This is why the Open Borders. I want Amicalola to try and prevent naufrager from getting the spoils. If he just decides to backstab again while I defend against Naufrager then I will empty my cities for Nauf, I swear it.

Amicalola and naufrager signed peace. I wonder if Amicalola realizes what that means

It means that if Naufrager invades in 2 turns, then Amicalola won't be able to do anything about it.

Turn 096, in the Puzzling of the Shire
I'm not sure if I understand this correctly, but naufrager does not seem to be looking to attack next turn. He has the whole of initial invasion stuffed into Hornblower and I do not see anything following up behind.
So I'm going to risk spamming out some more settlers.

Turn 099, in the Rebirthing of the Shire
I'm not quite sure why naufrager hasn't tried to kill me off yet. Amicalola can still try again in 3 turns, but I'm not seeing any real build-up on his side either. Instead we have this:
So they must have only declared a cease fire before? I wonder: did I really succeed in getting them to fear each other more than wanting to eat me?
They are both racing ahead in number of cities, both are more than double me. I'm working on my next two settlers, trying to claim at least 10 cities worth of land. But most of my cities are size 4 or smaller.
Amicalola planted on a defensive spot next to me.
Both of our cities will be able to be hit by 2-movers out of hte fog, it should be noted. Horse archers, anyone? But I still have to get granaries and barracks and get these cities growing first before I can hope to do any kind of mass whipping operation.

You will survive to the end of the game. Welcome to a fate worse than death.
