So you went for the high upside in trying to raze the capital. Would just razing Dread have been good enough? Seems greedy after seeing he maybe* knew something was up.

Seems greedy after seeing he maybe* knew something was up. I felt that there was a VERY slim chance of him seeing a possible capital raze this turn. The knight was the GG holder, was loaded onto a galley, and the galley hadnt taken its promotion yet. I had enough units to capture Dread and get a shot at the capital/GLH city, which would have hampered his research at least a decent chunk. He definitely saw the galleys, which is why he upgraded the archer to a longbow, but that Knight ending up in the capital (with an un-upgraded warrior!) was just pure bad luck on my part. His cities have enough production without the whip to churn out a unit/ship every 3t or so last i saw, so i HAD to cripple his economy so that others like Naufragar and Commodore would not give up. Made myself a martyr maybe? Dunno.
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."
-Old Harry. PB48. 5 FLAWLESS losses against a musket. At least 1 should have hit. they all had a 10% chance to withdraw too. Almost suicided my knight stack into the city to see just how many it would take to get a hit in. Decided against it, as i have a "slim" chance of "winning" this pb. Im sure Amica will get a good laugh at that.

-Old Harry. PB48. Operation Domination With Zero Income. Phalanx's are mean. Crossbow vs one that hasnt fortified on a hill... Still not great odds.

End Goal atm is to make it to 2nd. Didnt want to play kingmaker by taking down Amica and then Nauf is the new leader, and im too far behind to really get the win outside of swallowing all of Ginger-land and maybe a good chunk of Amica or Nauf land somehow..
