I don't like how espionage involves so much random chance. It makes sense within the framework of vanilla BtS espionage, where spies can never be spotted. But in Planetfall where they can, I feel the challenge is sneaking probe teams past your rivals. When you succeed in that, I feel you shouldn't be defeated by random chance anymore and get what you came for.

An alternative to giving me a base is lending me one so I can rush a colony pod there.
Iskender, have you met Mardoc yet? Do you know your position in relation to him?

You haven't lost any of your cities, and have now owned two separate Consciousness cities, admittedly briefly in the case of Consensus. You aren't even spending your treasury! What's the rush?

No, he hasn't. My home sea is just on the other side of Domai from him, if I was interpreting him correctly, but he's been too busy finishing the Free Drones to spare a unit to drive to the beach. Not that doing so would help you, per se, as there's still an ocean and a Cybernetic Consciousness in between you and him even after he clears the drones out of the way. To the west, anyway. Not sure how quickly he'd find you going east. Not sure it matters if you're destined to win this war, either .

The concerned Cybernetic Consciousness is pleased to proclaim the successful liberation of Logos. Unfortunately, the dastardly Data-Angels seem to have reduced it to a smoking crater. Citizens of Consensus await in trepidation the approach of even more Data-Angels forces. Will they suffer the same fate? They are outnumbered, but brave. Only time will tell if the stalwart defenders will be able to hold out against the onslaught.

In other news Maniac, I'm really liking how useful naval stuff is, even in a mostly land-based war. I definitely got blindsided by the effectiveness of your boating with even just a few cargo foils. I am somewhat confused though, how did one of your choppers end up with Precision as a special ability? The Civilopedia says it is only available to boats and missiles, and that Spectre is only open to infantry and those seem to be the only special abilities with a matching picture for the unit you just rescued from Logos.
You don't have to answer now or here in thread, but if you could drop that into your spoiler thread, I'd love to be able to read it post-game.

My inevitable demise will soon follow. Until now I've just been able to profit from the surprise attack effect. I'm spending lots of credits, but they were being regained from pillaging Logos and some terrain improvements. You should try pillaging too. Illuminatus is still up for grabs.

Ah, I must be going blind in my dotage then.

You have a very strange definition of up for grabs.

Maniac, I'm sending a boat in your direction. You'll see it approaching from the west, at the latitude 3 tiles above the top line of southern land ice tiles.

Think you could move a little southward? I've got a ship sailing westward following the ice cap line to reduce the chance of encountering IoDs.

When you lack roads, use boads.
