Why would Tasunke fake not having a name? Unless you and him making the assumption that 'all wolves have names,' which leads to 'if you don't have a name, you aren't a wolf.'

Being an unnamed character myself, I have to admit I felt a bit let down at being 'generic.' Do you have a name?

Maniac Wrote:I've mostly been wondering why someone would vote for me if they really thought I was unkillable, and I wasn't telling a joke referencing the SMAC secret project.

There are two kinds of unkillabilities.

Unkillable by day.
Unkillably by night.

If I was unkillable by day, I wouldn't give a damn if people suddenly started voting for me after my joke.

If I was unkillable by night, villagers should rejoice, not vote on me. The only people who should be worried about a night-unkillability, would be the NAPs. It would mean the only way to kill me, would be by day, and they would be more likely to vote to lynch me.

This makes me suspicious the_stick might be NAP.
This is a pretty weak post IMO. Thestick was voting for you because he didn't think you were joking, and didn't believe your claim. So why retort by asking why he would vote for you if you did believe your claim?

Looks like you thought you had some clever counterargument going and got carried away. At any rate, something seems off about your perspective here.

This question isn't hard to answer. Why not check for yourself?

Gonna back Lewwyn up on this. Your anguish over not having a name was just over the top. Normally, you would be lamenting the shortage of combustible materials.

Well, if nothing else we've set the record for most unvotes in an RB game. smile

Sareln Wrote:I don't see the problem here... just because a vote is in the early period where votes are flying fast and furious doesn't mean that vote means nothing. I guess that puts me in rather vehement disagreement with a lot of people now.

We're on the same page as far as early votes are concerned. The issue is that your vote is sort of a "gotcha" vote- Pindicator was correct in criticizing Bob's reasoning. It's separate from whatever Pindicator's reasoning was for his Novice vote was. It's a lazy vote.

thestick Wrote:A bunch of people (Injera, Tasunke, Mattimeo, Lewwyn) still haven't moved past the joke vote/roleplay stage.

While my first posts tend to be humorous (at least to my sense of humor) the target I select is never a "joke." I always have some reason related to prior knowledge for it.

In this case, last game I was a wolf and was unhappy when a villager attacked Sareln. Pressure on Sareln was only going to be a good thing for the village, as he's really a good player and the earlier he gets active, the better. Of course, in that game I knew he was a villager, but it works the same way if he's a wolf- a bigger post trail means he'll be easier to catch.

So my vote was to try to get him out of his shell, but when he came in with his first post I felt it would be worthwhile to keep my vote on him.

Thestick, this is your first game at RB, right? What's your WW experience been like elsewhere?

I agree with what zak and Lewwyn mentioned. On top I read Tasunkes posts already with the mindset "he always flails around at the start of the game". But even then they seem to be "staged".

Anyhow, I also don't like how Maniac has argued but I have never played with him so this might just be his style. Keeping an eye on him for now.

On the other hand, I like zaks play up until now, reminds me of how I remember zak. For everyone else it is just too early to say all that much. Apart from that I am obviously not investing much time into the game right now, but that should better in the next days.

Still typing up my big post. This isn't my first WW game at RB, I played in WW13 as the Fat Beta Wolf and lurked my way to the endgame. Absolutely zero WW experience outside of RB.

Why would Tasunke fake not having a name? (This isn't pointed, I'm curious.) If he is faking it, there must be a good reason. If he isn't, maybe he just wanted a name.

zakalwe, I think Maniac didn't understand that I didn't believe his roleclaim. He thought I was serious, but didn't pick up that I thought he was lying. At least, that's how I'm reading it.

One thing I don't get about Molach. His logic on me is pretty terrible. I didn't joke vote on a real player, I fake stupidity by wondering about 12 packs when I know there's only my own, and I'm voting for waterbat because he's hitting all the lurkers.

First of all, Molach's 'You know perfectly well there's only one wolf pack' relies on me being a wolf, which a) I'm not and b) I'm not. Even if you don't believe that I'm a villager, assuming that I'm a wolf before he concludes that I'm a wolf is pretty shoddy reasoning.

Second of all, he thinks we shouldn't be voting for lurkers, yet he ignores waterbat:
Molach Wrote:We should look for 'blenders' rather than lurkers. Blending in by posting fluff and safe votes, not silence. Anyway.

So he thinks we should not be hitting lurkers, and instead hitting people who keep voting safe votes. The thing is, waterbat's been hitting lurkers. waterbat votes for Serdoa and Brick, and has stated that he's hunting for lurkers. Why isn't Molach angry at him?

As for me, I haven't made a vote based on lurker-ness yet. I voted for Maniac and waterbat, both active posters. If Molach doesn't think we should hunt lurkers, why isn't he voting for waterbat, the lurker hunter?

He also doesn't like my reasoning on waterbat. My reasoning is that waterbat's votes have all been 'safe,' first as wakeup calls for people who haven't appeared (Serdoa, Brick), and someone who's claim, if taken seriously, was not believable (Maniac). It's true that it might just be village laziness, I won't deny that. Or it's a safe place to plant a vote for a wolf. Could go either way.

Molach also seems to be going out of his way to say that he thinks waterbat's innocent:
Molach Wrote:I get villager vibes from waterbat - this post (to Jkaen)

waterbat Wrote:Its understandable you forgot. You probably only remember my last desperate pleas to get you to vote for wolf novice. No, no recollection there either?

I warned you guys I was still bitter.

comes across at 'not something a scum would do'. Both eager to hunt scum, and saying he's bitter while a scum would try to win hearts and minds.

This reads to me like a convenient excuse to why he won't vote for waterbat.

To wrap it up, he doesn't like my joke vote, assumes I'm a wolf before he proves it, and although he states that he doesn't like lurker hunters, he ignores the self-proclaimed lurker hunter. Molach

On a less logical and more 'gut feeling' note, it feels like Molach has been gunning for me from Post 1.
