I knew the mechanics suggestions were unlikely to work, although I did consider the game being abandoned if trend of people going inactive continued a real threat. We had people doing absolutely nothing day 3! The real object of that post was to try and motivate players to try to improve the state of the game which was pretty unhealthy, without calling anyone in particular out. Sorry if I gave you a headache with that BRick.
Surprised to be dead given I was wrong 2 days out of 3. Novice and rowain saying my play was good makes me trust them less. I was way off on day 1. Although I had been effectively pressuring people, I hadn't delivered any results yet. I still wouldn't be able to give a full scum list. At least I recovered from day 1 fairly quickly.
BTW I wasn't acting deliberately scummy, I really did just have little time on day 1, skimmed posts and went on gut feel. In hindsight, which I realised after I'd ripped Merovech's fake claim apart (... oops?), the 2-shot modifier on watcher was a very weak role in such a large game and I shouldn't have believed thestick's claim so easily.
Sareln being lynched when he was actually being very helpful was annoying btw!
and I find this post from Novice scummy.
Quote:Sigh. GG Uberfish, too good as always.
Gotta admit that was a bit demotivating, Uberfish was either playing a blinder scum game, or carrying the village here. It seemed obvious that he would be killed if the latter was the case.
I'm up for a quick lynch, let's just pool our votes with the guys we trust. I trust JKaen, so Rowain.
Good game, uberfish. By the time I had died, I had reallY stopped suspecting you.
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.
1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.
2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.
3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.
4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.
I agree about novice, good self-analysis there uber. I was also quite surprised to see you die so soon as well, I still think you were mislynchable (although maybe the living villagers weren't as passionate about stringing you up as I would have been, hehe).
Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.
Azza Wrote:Not going to go after Catwalk again unless a bandwagon starts to form, since for some odd reason people who are up for lynching one day tend not be be on the block the next. Still don't trust him.
.
what does that even mean??

Actually I'm harder to lynch than you probably think. I often pick up votes but have only been mislynched once and that was when I joke claimed scum on d1.
My interpretation: Azza thinks Catwalk is a mafia. But he's noticed that at RB, surviving a lynch tends to make you safe for a while, almost never does someone get close to lynch two days in a row.
So he figures no matter what he does, he can't get Catwalk lynched today, and is going to spend his effort elsewhere. But Azza wants it noted that he finds Catwalk suspicious, to try to overcome that effect and lynch him anyway.

I never said you were easy to mislynch

Sareln Wrote:So now with 1/3 of the people dead we should be able to solve this game here in the lurker thread right?
my top 3 suspects are dead villagers, maybe I should stop speculating rather than embarrass myself more
really, now that I think about it, day 1 makes no sense to me at all. With you, uber, and merovich all turning up villagers, I don't understand how I wasn't mislynched day 1. Seems like it would have been so easy to save thestick.
Given that, perhaps we need to start looking at people who voted for thestick day 1.

3 are cleared (me, zak, serdoa).
I have a hard time picturing TT or Tasunke as wolves here.
wouldnt be surprised if novice & molach are doing a repeat of ww14 - molach is certainly back to his wolfish super-lurk. Same thing with Arromir.
Honestly, strategically lurking has proven to be very effective for wolves on RB, so it wouldnt surprise me at all if Arromir was given advice to lurk by the veterans in his pack. We really do need to step up the policy lynching of lurkers days 2-4 in future games :/.
Mattimeo and pindicator could both (or either) be wolves as well.
