For the record if you are going to make an Ultimatum, I'll capitulate on events because I want to kick your butt. But let's make a couple of things clear.

1. Ffh for civ 4 had no events. It worked fine. The only thing events will break are adaptive and insane leaders and the Armageddon counter. It will not break late game stuff, it makes for a more balanced game.
2. Events are unbalanced. They favor Good or Evil Civs at the expense of Neutral ones. I want to kick your butt fair and square. I don't want it to be because I got free Great People, Settlers, army units, extra tile bonuses, etc. I don't want random hill giants popping up to stall you or me and I don't want either of us to get extra xp from it. I don't want any excuses or valid reasons why someone was at a disadvantage because of events.

3. It's not that we can't handle barbs, oh we can. It's that we don't want the team game determined by who is the best xp farmer. I wouldn't feel good finding all of a sudden a 5 combat unit tearing down my cities because they abused barbs better than me. And, nor should you in my opinion. Because believe me if barbs were on, I would completely change my strategy to abuse them to ensure your doom

And: Luchuirp, Khazad, Bannor, Illians. Nox Noctis. Ring of Carcer. Infernal Grimoire. Altars of Luonnotar. Tower of Elements, Tower of Necromancy. All projects. Soul Forge. Spirit Guide. Hall of Mirrors. Eyes and Ears Network. Citadel of Light. Planar Gate. Probably more, but that's from a quick scan.

This. Thanks Dave! smile
Plus (at least) Amurite (Cave), Elohim (Chancel), Octopus Overlords (Asylum), Clan (Warrens), Order (Crusader+Acolyte spawning), Calabim (Feast), Smoke/Fire mechanics, and Shrine of Sirona.

Yes bts ffh had more content. What's your point? We're going off track now.

The above are lists of mechanics in FFH2 that require events to function correctly. This isn't just a problem with certain leaders - events are integral to how the game is setup.

If that's true that's very shameful on Kael's coding.

Whatever you think of Kael's coding, it seems clear to me that having events off would just be asking for trouble. Given the apparent 3/3 voting split, as mapmaker I'm going to use my ultimate discretionary authority to enable events.

Okay, if keeping events off has an affect on that many things (had no idea tell you the truth) then keeping them off would be just stupid.

I agree. I thought they were just for the free bonuses like was stated above.

See below totaled settings. I added one new one at the bottom. Please vote on that one. One note is that I'm fine with City Gifting for the additional stipulation that it's for captured cities only, not cities that were created from a teammates settler.
