[SPOILER] [PB38] OT4E plays this one because lurking around takes too much time

So here is how it went on:

It is OH's 6th city, while we have just planted 4th. I looks more like as eternal war rather than peaceful border. Any thoughts?
What if we whip/chop some axes?

On the other hand OH has just got a power spike and it is probably archery tech.

And 2-3 archers can probably stop our attack. Though 2 of his front cities are flat and we have a barracks.

Here is our domestic situation:

Our horses are by the coast, so I am considering planting below #6 point to hook them quick and go straight for HBR.

Btw, chumchu, I will be away from my PC for wednesday-thursday, can you play some turns?

My idea was to double whip axe in our #2 and overflow into another one (will take some turns in rtr but we are still short in happy). Also we can upgrade our warrior with promotion and may be whip/chop axe (I didnt check if it can come out in reasonable time yet).

This can theoretically give us a stack of 4 axes and one spear mostly with available promotions. Alternatively we can go for axe-spear in #2 this must safe us 2 turns however needs to be synchonized with front production and worker movements.

Is it crazy idea?

3 archers without walls or hill cant survive against it.

Hi!

Sorry for not responding much. I'm in the process of moving between apartments. I can cover a turn wednesday/thursday but I can not promise much time put into it I'm afraid. As long as you give me instructions were fine.

About the war plans. They are slightly crazy as they are up 6 to our 4 cities and have a much shorter distance to the front. Even if we take a city we can probably not hold it when they have multiple cities near by. With 1 movers they will have time to react, even more if they read our power graphs. They might have chariots soon to counter our axes.

I would advise going for HBR instead for an early rush. That way we can attack them with 2-movers which mitigates the distance malus and it gives us much better chances against their units in any battles. Forking should be very useful against the 2 front cities and beyond.

I played the turn in the morning, lets see when does the next one arrives. I will be available to give some instructions though everything is pretty simple and you need to move workers and look around.

I think we must make pressure on OH and try razing tha citt. Of course we cant keep it but slowing OH down is important. Otherwise he will make basic infrastructure and use his advantage of having more cities. If we force him to whip archers everywhere it is still positive outcome. If we can delay him getting culture in that front is also very good.

If we want to make base for invasion with numids we must start now. If we just let it develop we will have no chance to do anything.

Alternative scenario is to focus on defending and pull him on attack. I doubt he will let our great front to stand and open potential fork for his 2 flat cities. But we may be able to counter it with HAs.

Here is the overview of our front.

Power graph shows that OH has 2 axes or just this axe and archery tech.

We can attack on T61 with 5 axes and spear. 4 will have CR promotion so we will have odds against his axes in cities. Though it requires us to spend 80 gold on upgrade and consequently delay HBR by like 3-4 turns. Also it looks like he will be able to see our stack on T58-T59 depending on turn order. Initially I wanted to make sneak attack from the forest below sheep, but now there is a scouting warrior

So, now it is T58, OH hasnt played yet.

He can see axe+spear protecting worker in the forest. On T60 it finishes road and we can walk in. Does it look like we just chopping?

Power graph makes me worry, those 2 last spikes could be immortals and he can attack our city from the darkness. But I guess this is the risk we are taking.

On the other hand he cant see any spike from us yet.

Exciting times. It will make him paranoid but at least he can't know for certain that an attack is imminent unless he sees the worker roading.

We should at least prepare for the worst and make additional spears asap to counter immortals.

He cant know what worker is doing but I guess he suspects the worst too. Last turn he declared us war and tried to make 10 turn peace. This is very good move to reveal intentions. Also they got 2nd phase what leaves them 1 more turn to make decisions.

I reoffered caesic fire though we are declaring and moving in next turn. I guess it didnt work because OH made 4 whips. This is not good for attack but in long term we didnt let him to grow fruits from his quick expansion and made him whip before granaries in most cities.

The question is what exactly he whipped. Is it 4 immortals or what? Also if he made some preparations he could raze our city from the darkness if he has some immos. This is my current concern.

T60

We have got first GG points. OH sent his warrior on suicide recon mission and it was easy target for our new brand spear.

So I moved the stack in:

Surprisingly the thing he whipped in his front was spearman. I guess it was the only valuable thing he could whip there and probably he will retreat everything from Elite this turn. I had to move last warrior out of the city to check for immortals. None of them there. He can kill warrior but it will cause him to lose unit in exchange. I think it is in our favor.

Power graphs shows that WilliamLP is growing power too and they are still at war with OH.

It will be great luck if we attack simulateneously. If we dont I doubt we can advance anywhere further. What do you think?
I also lean to research HBR next. It will delay forges but bring some kind of stability in this aggressive world.
