(spoilers) Trying something new

Its been on the back burner ever since i saw where Ruff's 2nd city would be + copper. I plan on focusing more energy on pb48/51
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. [Image: noidea.gif] In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

Because as it currently stands, there is NO hope for the city to live... im gambling ( and throwing away ) our 2nd worker for a shot at saving the city. Its risky, but its the best shot i could see to tempt Ruff to not just capture the city/get it next turn and instead "damage" us by snagging the worker first. We still need good rolls to win this little duel, but it at least gives us a chance... i think?

its still several axes vs our city, but our archer gets more fortified with every turn that he doesnt attack ( still hasnt brought the warrior along.. ) Man, im glad i bought something to drink.

What i asked for was good odds. What i got was "ok" odds, and absolute shit.

2hits on the archer is already bad enough, but a flawless win on the 2nd axe? Ill still never understand how something without first strike immunity can not get hit by something that has first strikes. First strike needs renamed or something.

To make matters worse, he IS bringing the warrior along just incase i magically win a warrior vs axe fight. Son of a bitch. GG fintourist you win this game unless Commodore gets some really weird neighbor luck.

Fuck me. Had such a good outlook on this game from the start.

GKC if you want, you can take over this one... otherwise ill just be pumping axes/spears( if he gets chariots ) to play around with Ruff until FT eats us.

Here is what is left of the Roman Empire. Got peace with Ruff so that we can build some units in peace... before losing them to some weird event that Ruff will probably get.

To those that might say we deserved it for planting a holy city across from him, i just have to say... Ruff was planning on aggression from the start. Judging from his lack-of-fucks in the tech thread and telling the whole player-base that we were neighbors to his constant CONSTANT caring about peace time double moving. Yeah, he was planning an axe/attack long before our settler even got there let alone landed the religion.

Maybe its just because i play multiple pitbosses at once, but i thought it was normal to not bring prior/ect games into others. Why bring the pb47 shit here?

Yeah im a bit livid losing yet another game where i try something different to an aggressor, but this was Pre-Meditated  nod

Probably should've gone with the original, safer micro plan.

What did that one call for again?

Worker road/cancels on the corn, chops a forest. Archer+axe plant at the fish/deer/fur/plains horse ( tile yield ) spot. FT rolls over me/ruff/world around t85 with horse archers.

Chopping begins next turn. Might whip into a workboat? Dunno... depends on how safe i think settling with an axe + archer vs Ruff is. Also confirmed that that is Horses where his axe/worker is. Yippie.
