WW11 - Civilization

Sareln (1) - Cyneheard

U. N. Resolution 212 (Declare War On Cyneheard) was successful (6 out of 7).

Cyneheard was dogpiled. He was a member of the Civilized World.

The Mali Civlization has been eliminated!

The following was discovered in the ruins of the University of Sankore

Quote:Welcome to WW11, Mansa Musa of the Mali!

Your civilization begins with the knowledge of Currency.

You have the following ability:

Give Gold: You may generously give gold to another civilization. This will unfortunately have the effect of distorting their economy, causing the government to be too distracted to carry out any non-military actions on the same night. (IE: you can block any action except kills.) This ability may be used twice.

You are part of the Civilized World. You win when all members of the NAP of Evil are eliminated from the game.

It is Night 6 - the Age of Terror

night actions due 2200 GMT Saturday

Well, that sucks. The arguments against Cyneheard were strong, though. I think we should hold off on further discussion until night is over.

lol

I would vote Tasunke or Mardoc if it were not for the metagame issues. Sarlen is number 1 by far after that I have no idea what I would do.

Damn. Back to square one I guess. Who dies tonight will tell us a lot.

Never table discussion at night, Catwalk. That always helps the wolves more than the village.

I could talk myself into anyone at this point but I'm afraid I need to step back and fully reassess.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Told ya. But I looked guilty as hell.

Well... that's awkward. I was sort of hoping that that was game.

Role reveal obviously won't happen at night. If the last wolf wants a bite, he's welcome to it. Last chance :neenernee.

By never table discussion, do you mean we should or shouldn't talk? Not familiar with that phrase.

These following recordings were discovered dating from 1991 providing firsthand evidence of proceedings during that troubled era:

UN Security Council Chambers - March 23 1991

CAESAR: Friends, Romans, countrymen, we are gathered here today to -

NAPOLEON: We aren't your countrymen.

STALIN: Get to the point, this meeting has taken too long already. Some of us have important things to do, like drawing up the next list of people to be sent to the gulag.

GANDHI: So the purpose of this meeting is to demand the secrets the Americans have been holding out on us.

NAPOLEON: No it isn't. We're here to draw up invasion plans for Mali.

LINCOLN: I cannot tell a lie but I wasn't going to give away my tech in any case. Because we all know that someone's a traitor here.

MANSA MUSA: Wait. What the hell?

PERICLES: It's a tragedy we have to destroy your country but we have no choice. You're obviously responsible for the oil crisis, who else had the currency reserves to manipulate the price?

MANSA MUSA: These allegations are ridiculous. I blame America.

NAPOLEON: Sucks to be you I guess. Oh well, if we're wrong we can deal with the hamburger eaters later.

STALIN: Here. Have a war declaration. Oh, sorry it's a bit late, my tanks started rolling two hours ago but what are a few formalities, eh? Do tell your citizens not to stand in the way, it leaves an awful mess.

MANSA MUSA: Someone will pay for this. All our citizens will be issued spears. We will destroy your tanks!

LINCOLN: What, you think you are playing Civilization 2?

CAESAR: Nice knowing you. Don't let the door hit you on your way out.

A Major City In Greece, Train Station - July 9 1991

GREEK POLICEMAN: I'm going to have to search that suitcase of yours.

TRAVELLER: I'm an important official in a hurry. Who do you think you are to stop me?

GREEK POLICEMAN: You're not going anywhere.

TRAVELLER: Choose your next words carefully. They may be your last.

GREEK POLICEMAN: Open that suitcase now unless you want to spend a night in the cells.

TRAVELLER: This is madness!

GREEK POLICEMAN: Madness?

GREEK POLICEMAN: THIS

GREEK POLICEMAN: IS

GREEK POLICEMAN: SPARTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

(GREEK POLICEMAN kicks the TRAVELLER onto the train tracks. The briefcase flies out of his hand, hits the electric rail and explodes in a flare of blinding white light. End of video.)

A Secret Detention Centre, Somewhere in Spain - Oct 17 1991

PRISONER: Aaaaargh!

INTERROGATOR: Start talking, scum! Three months ago, five nuclear devices were detonated in Greece's largest cities. We have proof you were responsible. Who are you working for? I want names!

PRISONER: We're freedom fighters for the liberation of occupied Germa - Aaaargh!

INTERROGATOR: Enough of that bullshit! There's no way your pathetic band of criminals could have gotten hold of nuclear weapons without government help.

PRISONER: We're freedom fighters for the liberation of occupied Germa - Aaaargh!

INTERROGATOR: I'm done with this one. Take him to room 101.

PRISONER: Wait. No. Anything but that...

INTERROGATOR: Then tell us the truth! Who planned this operation?

PRISONER: Aaaargh! The fact is... we got the idea from watching an episode of "24." We didn't have the resources to do anything until one day five suitcase nukes were delivered to our doorstep. Aaaaargh! It's true, I swear by the Buddha. Aaaaargh!

INTERROGATOR: If this is 24 then you can call me Jack Bauer. I want names!

PRISONER: Aargh! Aaaarrrrr...

GUARD: I think you killed him, sir.

The Greek Civilization has been destroyed!

The following was discovered in a lost dialogue of Plato:

Quote:Welcome to WW11, Pericles of the Greeks!

Your civilization begins with the knowledge of Drama.

You have the following ability:

Create Great Work: Once during the game your civilization may create an epic that influences the hearts and minds of the world. You may use this ability during the day targetting another civilization, generating enough sympathy for them that they cannot be voted off that day. If you use this ability during the last 24 hours of a day the day will be extended by 24 hours. This ability can't be used in the Modern Era.

You are part of the Civilized World. You win when all members of the NAP of Evil are eliminated from the game.

It is the Modern Era - day 7

lol I'll explain my vote.

MJW: I'm know I'm not guilty. lol
Tasunke: Gets bailed out by the metagame. It would be insane for a double-voter and roleblocker/redirector to be on the same wolf.
Catwalk: I think he is much less likely to be a wolf than Sarlen and Gaspar. He roleclaimed with 3 players yet to claim roles. So he is unlikely to be lying about his roles. It's possible that he is a wolf banner but that would mean that Cyneheard was pretty useless. Not a single one of his posts strike me as wolfish. He brutally attacked SC. I don't think Catwalk is good enough to play a great ww game for his first time. I cannot see myself voting for him. The below rant assumes he is not guilty.

It is unclear to me if Sarlen or Gaspar is worse. Gaspar has made too many illogical/incorrect statements that go against his personality to get a free pass. His lastest post is very weak for example. Uberfish may have gone full retard and gave the wolfs a vig. "incite riots" may not count as a miltary action making cyneheard not useless. Uberfish may have made Gaspar's role to only trigger when he is the last wolf. So Gaspar does not get bailed out by the metagame. I don't need to say anything about Sarlen about why he is up here. lol

If Gaspar is telling the truth that means Sarlen is a roleblocker-thinge and we can just kill him the next day. If Sarlen is telling the truth that means Gaspar could still be a wolf-vig and we may not get another lynch. So the safer play is to kill Gaspar now. I think Sarlen is more wolfish but not by much. I don't think that is the right question.
