if Molach not on by 10 minutes to go , I'll switch it over to you Bob - I'd rather have you have it than it sitting out there unclaimed.

The day started with a laugh. The drone called Molach showed up to breakfast with industrial sized staple protruding from his forehead.

“It was there when I awoke, I can’t seem to get it out. Yang did it to me, I know he did – he never liked us drones. Ow! It stings.”

“What do I care for your suffering?” Yang responded. “Pain, even agony, is just information before the senses, data fed to the computer of the mind.”

Yang’s apathetic tone didn’t exactly endear him to the group. Everyone agreed it was time for him to die.

“Do we even need to have a formal vote?” asked Captain Sven. “Let’s just kill him now!”

Sven’s appeal was successful. Even Yang seemed to agree.

“I do not fear death. I have long sense overcome the crass demands of flesh and bone. My death will simply be the completion of a chemical process, and nothing more.”

His stoic philosophy had one convert, at least. The noose was set, and Yang’s death seemed imminent, but Molach interrupted the act. “Wait, I forgive him. Perhaps he is not evil, just confused. I... I forgive him. But look, that drunk Lupus seems awful eager to lynch someone, for a change. Perhaps he has a guilty conscious?”

With that, the concensus was broken. Several seemed to support Molach in wanting Lupus Howell to lynch, and some still wanted Yang dead. The debate raged on a bit, then was interrupted by nap time. After sometime the group awoke, dew eyed.

“So, who did we decide on?”

“Lupus, I think.”

“Ok, let’s string him up.”

Jkaen, engineer and trusty handyman was lynched on day 6.

You are a talent specializing in the engineering field. You are a villager.
You have the following ability: With your trusty terraformer, you have built a sensor array around your nighttime residence. When you are targeted by a nighttime action, you will learn who targeted you, but not what action they performed.
You win when all threats to humanity are destroyed.
Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.

Oh FFS. So the lame role was real and the defense of Injera and trying to out the name seer was just inadvisable villager play. Augh.

Sorry guys, and sorry Jkaen.

ended up missing deadline - not that anything happened leading up to it.

what kind of lame power is that? I thought for sure Brick was onto something when he pointed out:

- Jkaen didn't want to nameclaim because his name would give away his power
- Engineer and learning who performed nighttime actions on you didn't seem to go together.

How were we to know these were related? Let me guess - the unit/talent "Engineer" in SMAC can build sensor arrays?

I dont think Jkaen ever indicated someone performed anything on him, did he?

Going to do my best to remain quiet during this night phase.

He had said I had scanned him, but only after I had already announced name-scanning him in the thread.

Seriously that is a terrible power. I could see it being useful if he had false-claimed baner or something and then reported who blocked him, but he never did anything like that banghead

Dammit. Looks like my analysis on him was wrong too. Sorry Jkaen.

Just so you all know, I won't be around at deadline for any day/nights until next Tuesday. I should be able to still review the thread and post at night time here (CDT), but since I'm on vacation I'll be unable to check the thread very much during the day.
