The same thing we do every night Pinky!
This was actually an honest description of our strategic aims.
Well given that we want to avoid astronomy we may have to pause at the seashore for a while.

GKC unit movements make us very nervous despite fish for fish, so we declare and offer peace, time to put the cards on the table.
Having secured both of MS's border cities, Kati and Sikasso, theres about 5 tiles of Malian culture until the next prize, his capital. Next turn we decide whether to dive in or consolidate, and GKC's response will help inform that decision.

What's the status with Donovan; is he still stacking next to you too?

I see he also stopped reporting? Donovan, as always,
He built like three cottages all game, but made it to construction. I guess he can't really hope to tech any farther. In exchange, he built enough farms to rival our mediocre CY.
He has a substantial defensive stack in the city facing us, but his mildly aggressive cat/phant group that was facing us has turned back. He might go to vulture off MS. He also might speculate to hit us in MS land. I don't think he just wants to stay at home, since he's whipping like crazy, and it's not like our attack is imminent.
I think we can easily take care of either of these 3 armies on the defense, and even two simultaneously without catastrophic losses. The question will be whether we can still ride an offensive meanwhile. Maybe the former has to happen before the latter can.

Lol, speaking of, Donovan declared on us
Ginger tells me that he's coming through MS.
GKC took peace though, so just one front...

The Apocalypse is upon us!
For the record, we have not simmed this or anything. It could totally go absolutely terrible.

I would also add for public record and lurker's notice that we've asked Donovan and MS to respect their current turn order of DZ-MS-us, given that they have stacks operating in the same theater, who moves first is really significant to our planning.

It's turn 150, we are Organized, and have not researched Code of Laws!
It's the sort of thing I'm proud of. Not even sure how much longer we'll go without it, might be a while. I did change to calendar though, as we have conquered spices and will have dyes soon it makes some sense.
The war is properly stalled, and we don't know if we will be able to do anything without new tech. Which will be eternal, but sadly MS is just really disciplined about not attacking out at uncertain odds.
We traded some inconsequential blows with Donovan, then he took peace.
Island theater
Grinding process. We are evaluating if we should continue with Kumbi Saleh, or hop on to Djenne.
The core has seen better days:
Ragnarök at least will get a lovely, shiny bank though.
could be worse. But somehow that #1 soldiers hasn't been enough so far.

Yesterday my son took the family laptop to school, and of course returned without the cable, so I had to play in a hurry. If I had had the time to think it all through.... I probalby would not have seen it anyways. It's been there for a while after all. Donovan couldn't do it, because of no Engineering, but of course MS does have it, curse Fin. All in all well deserved. Our war chariot and catapult took down 3 chariots on defense, and the two knights are dead now as well. We're also advancing in the north and forking two cities now, after MS took care to clear the forest standing in our way:
So next turn the catastrophe might be even bigger, or it might bring the bang that MS goes out with, or just more of the slow grind.
