If anyone wants a picture, just ask. Here's the demographics:
No techs selected, it's after ending turn.
2 cities will be settled in the next 2 turns (one in each). Both cities will work improved tiles (corn and clams) from the get go.

Well, we are definetely limping to currency now. Some people say this is the right thing to do, don't they? :neenernee
Fortunately, the situation will get a bit more stabilized after currency. Right now, currency would mean +9 commerce empire wide. But I'm trying to open borders with Yuris and explore one of his front cities to get some international TRs right now.
Besides, I'm almost finished with the library in the city that will farm our Academy for the capital. It should be ready in 15-20 turns (the academy, not the library :neenernee).
After that, just growing into cottages seems to be the best play. Monotheism -> HR shouldn't be that expensive. It'll also be a big boost. And after we can stop worrying about war, cottages will be made everywhere.
Maybe we are a bit overstretched right now, but I'm not that worried. That's because I'm a noob and I don't know what the hell I'm doing . Seriously, though, things are bound to improve soon, with currency being the turning point. We are financial after all.

Need to chop/whip into TGL in Technique. Colossus would be better but with no MC and Yuri there's no hope for it. And yes, no more settlers please

Message to Ichabod after t64 Wrote:me : We need to talk about Dave attack.
me : He built at least 4 spears since we decide on it, and as you can see from last save, they are either in or moving to Palaven
12 HA's just stopped being enough
me: My preferred option right now - put a stop on the attack preparation
switch to full infrastructure, get HG ( worth it with 9 cities )
trickle HA's in the background ( meaning make sure one HA completes somewhere every 2 turns )
me : Because they raise power chart like crazy and will force him to keep piling on units. It hurts him already, will hurt him more
me : In the meantime finish Currency, get Construction, come at him with Catapults.
me : He has no way of preventing us from obtaining tech edge, and if he adds more cities in the meantime he'll have harder time defending them.

I had already played the turn when I saw your messages. My opinion is that we have to stay at least another turn following the plan. Why another turn? Becuase on the next we can have a loof at Davey city with our warrior and than we can keep on planning.
I've only seen one spear moving to Palaven. Did you spot anymore? I can't believe Davey has that many troops. His power graph is ridiculously low, especially taking into account that our HAs haven't even been shown in the graphs due to the delay. I think his power is mostly from pop.
I don't like the idea of giving up on the attack. I think you are overestimating what Davey will have as defense. And if Davey power graph starts really growing, we coul dattack Yuris, who has only one axe in his border city.
A C1, Shock HA gets ~10% odds (to win and ~20% to retreat) at a fully fortified spearman in a city with walls. I expect Davey's troops to not be fully fortified and the city not to have a wall, only 40% culture defense. I think we have a shot.

Mainpoint is: let's keep going for at least next turn so I can see inside Davey's city.

Sorry for not asking you to play the save, Mist. First, I was in a very bad mood yesterday, since my soccer team lost a very important match that I had the displeasure to be in the stadium to watch. Second, there's a lot of minor micro things that I don't put in the save and just keep in my head. Not a big deal, though...

Davey declared on us. He hasn't moved anything, though. I proposed peace, since we cannot attack him anyway.
Damnit... If we hadn't gone for the attack, we'd be in a awesome position. Now we kind of botched it.
If davey takes peace I'm thinking of taking the HAs to raise a city that Gaspar will settle defended by a spearman and a warrior. Or maybe not...

Sure, we can't attack him right now, but it's not like he knows it for sure and he can't do anything to us either. If you kept us at war for few more turns while pillaging few tiles around Palaven, he'd become more nervous and he'd have to keep building units. As it is, he'll go full farmer right now with 10 turns of immunity and peace of mind.
You'd make for a pretty bad poker player, folding whenever someone raises stakes is a bad habbit
Anyhow, don't pick fights with Gaspar - too far, no point. Only person that might ( and that's very doubtful ) be worth picking on right now is Yuri, but not before he builds Colossus we can take, and not before we open trade routes with Gaspar to replace ones we loose with him.

Well, I believe I just made Yuri's game whole lot worse. We had an outside chance of getting his capital if he went about defending it badly.
He went about it very badly.
Offered cease fire after this, we have no means or reason to push further. If he refuses so be it, right now he's not really in position to hurt us in any way.
