Hence I assume that we have 4 Blue, 4 Red, 1 Grey and 1 Lead role (pres/bomber), 1 Support role (doc / engineer), 1 spy, 1 dealer etc etc

Brick can you confirm that is what you meant by that?

It just means that for each category, players are split. I.e., 9 players to each room, and that overall the red and blue teams are equal. There is no guaranteed equal distribution of players by alignment or role in a room.
