[SPOILERS!] Grimace and wetbandit hope to stay on their side of the DMZ

OH/AH also increased their score to 42, we had assumed they were researching an expensive tech, like BW, so this correlates with the jump.
Agree, move the scout into the forest, then onward as you propose. I had some computer trouble this morning and couldn't get to the sandbox. I will have some time later. The DelTaco was delicious btw. (November 16th, 2014, 17:51)GermanJojo Wrote: 8k. Thanks GJ! That correlates with the increase we saw, then. Glad you enjoyed it! I do crave their fries from time to time, because they're the only place I know that still does the crinkle-cut fries. I'm really curious to see who gets the first city planted this game.
Turn 15
Moved the scout 1E and revealed a single tile...a forested plains hill 1E of his new location. Next move will reveal some more, so I didn't bother to take a screenshot. Only change in demos was our life expectancy went up to 90 from the corn being irrigated this turn. Next turn will start moving the worker over to the pigs. A thoroughly uninteresting round.
Playing around with the sandbox a bit, it still seems like the 3S1W location gets things running a bit faster.
Are you spoiled for PB22? PB22 spoiler: (November 17th, 2014, 01:04)wetbandit Wrote: Playing around with the sandbox a bit, it still seems like the 3S1W location gets things running a bit faster. It's a high-food location, that's for sure, especially once we get fishing. Speaking of which, what should our next tech be? Wheel? Fishing? AH? I haven't read any of PB22, so I'll check out his thread tomorrow at work.
Turn 16
Moved the scout SE-E and now: Two 1-tile lakes, and some meh land. Incense, which will be nice later, but doesn't do much good right now. Thoughts on next moves? I guess it depends on whether we should explore more down the peninsula to the SW of the capital, or explore more over here. I guess if we don't want to waste moves, we keep going and scout SW a little bit with our warrior. In which case, SE, followed by an undetermined move depending on what's revealed. Maybe south on the forested grassland hill, maybe SE again if there's a good reason to do so. Maybe E. Also, demos: Whosit got a 6 point increase this turn. Average soldier count didn't go up, so it wasn't a military tech, but they obviously researched something. Best soldiers actually went down by 1000 this turn...so maybe someone who had built a warrior lost them in a battle? Can't think of any other reason it would go down except the loss of a unit, and scouts are worth 0 according to the chart helpfully provided by GJ.
Is the scout standing on something more than a 1/2 forest?
We should scout the remaining area east of rice river valley. SE-S gives a view of almost all of the tiels. We can then Go Deep to the east, SE, or back track North. OH/AD score went from 42->38 last turn, meaning they whipped their capital from 2->1. 1 pop is 1000 power. There's your decrease in power. (November 17th, 2014, 19:21)wetbandit Wrote: Is the scout standing on something more than a 1/2 forest? Nope, it's a plains forest. That sounds good as far as movement. I think we want to defog as much as possible, and moving in areas we've already been is a waste if we don't have to do it. Ahh, I didn't see that. Then Whosit must have grown to pop 2, because the best population stayed at 6000.
Turn 17
Enterprise grew to pop 2 this turn and I switched the governor's choice to the FPH again. Moved the scout SE and saw: Barb lion to the E. Thought about it for a moment. I could have gone SW onto the forest to retreat out of range, but the lion would still be there, interfering with our ability to scout. So I moved S as originally suggested to get the forested hill defense bonus and we'll see if he attacks. We have pretty good odds to win, and I think it's worth the risk to keep exploring. Worst case if we lose we already have enough info for 2-3 more cities, so it's not going to kill us right now. The worker moved onto the pigs this turn and will start pasturing next turn. Warrior is built next turn, and BW due in 6! Demos: Someone (probably Whosit, since he's the only person with 2 pop now besides us) is working two good food tiles to generate 11 food. We're still in the lead with 5 hammers...everyone else is food-heavy. |
