well, in the small cities, sure - I couldn't get the maces there. I whipped as well as I could. Problem was, I had so screwed up the game that I was defending with impis/maces vs. knights, which isn't good.

Impis are fine as long as you have enough cats

I decided to take a huge gamble by building wealth this turn. Plan is then finish edu in the next 3 turns with research builds. Build wealth for 2 turns hopefully, then get liberalism in 2 turns with max research builds. GA after lib.

Need 1,980 raw beakers (660b for 3 turns) for edu and 1,540 (770b for 2t) for lib

looks like I will need to borrow gold to win lib since DTG is also building hardcore wealth.

Well definitely lost lib since DTG adopted FR to 1t Education.

And I really doubt that he would be making these funky civic changes unless he already had the GE in the bag.
