Gavagai's ambassador is not responding to requests. They are fogbusting very nicely for us.
I'll track power graph to ease the paranoia.
I prefer simply build a galley and sending a settler down south once we get monarchy. Settling that island will give a nice boost to commerce.
I think oracle should be measured against expansion. We are next to SD's rex combo, and we need to be flush up his borders ASAP with praets to threaten him. I would consider sending overtures by turn 75 to gavagai about splitting his land. In any case, SD is probably going to be on city 4 when we are on city 3, we need to pump out cities.
I think you are overestimating how many cities we can fit on the mainland. Probably 8-10 total, not ~15. Cairo/SD will be settling to us as well, and SD said we are very close to gavagai - 13 tiles away from his 2nd city.
And yes, the naming theme was sort of in light of that.

Re: island, still think that scouting and seeing if we need to build a Work Boat or something would be nice.
Re: Gavagai, do we know where he is? If the map is a clock, it looks like we're at the 7 o clock. SD is 9 o clock, Cairo is 5 o clock, and Raskol is 3 o clock. Do we know if Gavagai is at 11 o clock or 1 o clock?

Double check the resource requirements for elephants in this mod. I think the lastest version that this is based off requires Iron for elephants not Ivory. I may be wrong but worth double checking.

That's true.

Thanks.
T44 Pre-Report
GKC chopped the forest into the Settler, so I guess we're either one-pop whipping this, or slow-buliding it. Or doing 2-pop Axe whip shenanigans. Am hesitant about sending our settler west unescorted, since human barbs should start showing up.
Also miscounted the food, so we have 17/28, not 18/28.
An Axe just finished in Lodi, but it will take a while to head West. Think we should go Worker or Axe next instead of Barracks, since we're hoping to get Hinduism in two turns.
What's the plan for Ney (heading for Arcole) and the Settler? Roading? Chop 2W of Toulon into the Spear?

I decided to chop into the settler to get it asap while gav's scout and ours has defogged the nearby area - it seemed the best thing to do at the moment - plus, we are falling behind SD. I plan to whip next turn, with enough overflow going to complete the spear in 2, and then the next chop coming in for an axe.
You know about the fogbusting mechanics? They are pretty generous, since no barbs can spawn in a 2 tile radius around units including diagonals, or in tile vision. We shouldn't have barb threats. With Ney roading, we should be able to get the spear there fast enough.
Lodi needs to have a few hammers put into the barracks every now and then to prevent decay.

Barbs won't really attack until there are 19 cities in the game, and we've not hit that number yet. We should be safe enough till a spear on turn 47.
If we don't take a few risks here and there, Joao will stifle us.

Re: barbs, alright. I knew the 5x5 defogging rule intellectually, but not emotionally. Didn't know that 19 cities thing.
