[spoilers] Commodore is strategic in Pitboss 74

Well, that was "successful" on the part of Amicalola. Not sure that Pindicator will react well in the long term.

Well, it was in the place where I really didn't need the culture, but nice to have our own domestic religion.

Classic setup. Next tech is IW, then Monotheism/Monarchy while working on a great scientist. Golden Age (HR/OR) spread the religion, Caste a few border pops, stockpile great people points, and get Vassalage in the end to Feudalism revolt. Then it's all-in to Guilds and hit...someone. mischief

In your capital? I didn't think that was possible.

Nah, next door in city #2.

Tarkac is up to 11 cities, they landgrabbed this whole area pretty well. I'd contest them for more but they're literally the only force capable of stopping this game from being a Plemo ROFLSTOMP, so...welcome to it, I guess.

I imagine this was a risk you'd analysed beforehand and decided to mitigate through acceptance. Your calmness is nonetheless impressive.

Nobody's going to win this thing exclusively through early conflict. Although Pin is trying to invest me...

...I suspect this is just chaff, given the lack of timers, he's going to want to fight Amicalola in the jungles is my bet.

Thing is, I really don't want to fight until Guilds. Which is only 20t away:

We have the time for the diversion, so going to snag a 2-turn Calendar to deal with our angry, angry populace...

...four calendar luxuries plus bananas makes it worthwhile, but I'll be MoMing too.

Turn 99 Graphs
We just achieved Superdeath's graphs, so all known contacts are now charted, just in time for turn 100. It's okay:

The main upshot is that my GNP is bonkers, about 25% higher than my neighbors', and that's remaining true even after Pindicator shrined and landed Currency himself. MFG is concerningly low, Crop Yield is good but Pin's is zooming, power would be a lot more worrisome if Tarkeel didn't have Plemo and Pindicator didn't have Amicalola. Everything about these graphs screams "just keep teching" to me, although I need to wean from the whip onto some mines a little more now that I've got a better happy cap with Calendar.

Turn 100+ Update: The Hills of Avalon (Darius of Maya)
It's turn 100 (okay, 102 now), and I'm in a distant third place here in Pitboss 74. Hopeless as the game is, there are enough interesting things ahead that you should probably still enjoy watching; certainly I'm sure that many players are here deluding themselves that this game isn't over. I'm certainly having fun with my adorable little empire:
Demos were recently posted but one thing I want to highlight is the land area stat; I'm not terribly set up but for a dozen cities it's not a ton of land tiles; Pindicator, Amicalola (who also has a dozen cities) and Tarkeel will all have much more usable real estate after they hack it all out of the jungle. My landgrab grade is, at best, a C+ for this one. Pathetic MFG is going to be a real issue going forward, and while crop is relatively nice, PLEMO LANDED THE HANGING GARDENS ON SEVENTEEN CITIES. It's Plemo's game, we're just goofing off here.

CITIES woo. To start with, Civilization, the capital. Absolutely fine for the starting, but this thing with its two fake mapmaker-hand peaks is miserable as a longterm prospect. I think the plan will be to workshop those remaining flat tiles and make it a modest little hammer site. The lack of any Ottawa in my lands bums me out, but this is okay for now.

Second city Tactics, also the Taoist holy city, will also ironically probably be best as a hammer city once watermills come online, none of its villages are unique. As you can see there's currently a barracks being built, no new builds are going to be GNP-boosters at this point, once the last few libraries and markets wrap up we're nothing but barracks, horse archers, and knight prebuilds. There's a lot of beakers between now and Guilds, but it's going to be shocking how fast those ablate.

Border-city Gettysburg is suffering tile-loss from Pindicator's pink dot, but it's about to look a lot nicer with a pair of riverside silk plantations. Commerce city, will be whipped for 2 knights.

My border city with Tarkeel, amazing potential Moai spot, I still don't know how safe it is. This is near the Tarkeel new core after they got gutted by Plemo, so I'm sure they dislike it. Still very fine city, and those ruins are huge. Will be whipped for 1 knight.

Generic border city, very light on hammers, will eventually be a fantastic commerce spot. Until that, though, it's just a whipping station. Will get a horse archer and 2 knights whipped.

Claiming invaluable dyes and otherwise kind of a loser of a spot, Outdoor Survival just makes the bare minimum of hammers and is otherwise getting a lot of whips. With the forests, will produce 3 knights whip-assisted.

Commerce city Anzio is going to be epic, eventually, but it's suffering a lack of worker labor right now. 2 knights get whipped initially here.

The most glaringly artificial map thing after capital peaks, apparently everyone has this little one-city stone island. Jutland is fine, just nice hybrid city. Will make trireme and galley or two if Bing is the target, otherwise just 2 knights.

Midway is a pinkish dot, so unsafe right now, but this will be the best commerce city in the world eventually.

Africa Korps is another amazing commerce city, just needs security.

Newborn filler that works precise zero new tiles:

...and that's the empire. Ask any questions you may have.

So I guess the target of all these knights is still not 100% decided.
What would be the reason/deciding factor for anyone/everyone ?
