Fool me once, shame on you. Feel me twice, shame on me.

If Zakalwe is scum it sure looks like uberfish for last scum to me. Q "I'm liking Zak's play" - would a scumbuddy say this? Perhaps he is going for the "Would never do that" defense. Uberfish seems more classinc how scum would act - not saying much about zak, indirectly saying Jkaen is likely village....

Or is this Q and Uberfish tapdancing into the sunset.

If that's the case then zak is seriously less energetic than his usual play. I still think he's the most likely scum, but Q v. Uberfish will likely decide it then

Day end isn't tonight right?

No, tomorrow. Though I kind of feel like it's just going to be going in circles for the next 24 hours. Though if Zak can convince Q onto Jkaen, then Uber can jump on at the end and its game over. Or he can flip Zak and then point to Q's posts today as evidence of him being Zak's scum buddy.

Presuming it's Zak and Uber, they really are just repeating WW21, as Ryan said. Uber even fakeclaiming commuter like Lewwyn did. Bah!

Also a bit frustrating that Novice and my dying words are being ignored in the current debate. Not that I went after Zak very hard, but Novice did. Listen to our Ghost-votes Town! Hear our cries from beyond the grave!

On Tasunke's tell, I don't think it was idiomatic, I think it was more just a clumsy breadcrumb on Tasunke's part. I certainly didn't pick up on it and I probably use more cliches, old saws and off-the-wall idioms than anyone I've ever met. There's absolutely no way anyone could tell that English wasn't your first language, novice.

Regardless of what Bigger thinks, novice is absolutely inclined to give zakalwe the benefit of the doubt. They'll "turn" on each other briefly in the thread but inevitably buy each others defense.

Its not really a big deal if you get used to it. There are certain players who for whatever reason "speak" to one another in such a way that their voice rings truer even when it turns out dishonest. Sareln and I always seemed to believe in one another's innocence, the actual reality of the innocence notwithstanding. Bigger has the same blind spot for Lewwyn. There's others, but I don't want to give away all my trade secrets in case I roll scum again in the future. smile

The key is for the rest of the players to metagame it properly.

By the by, I've always wondered if I'm the only one who really hates 48 hour days when we get towards the end? Once you're under say, 8 players the days just feel interminable and tend to result in huge swaths of time with nothing in the thread. I've heard before that people like the break, but to me they're game killers. If zak's scum and the game continues, its not like the game is going to pick back up, its just going to be another 72 hours of sporadic posting and people set in their ways. I think for a while we did shorten the later days, but I think we stopped doing it a long time ago. Probably because the early games had a "don't post at night, it only helps the scum" meta which gave us the deep breaths we needed during the game. Anyway, if I ever run a game (extremely unlikely) I would certainly move to 24-hour days after a certain point.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

I was just thinking that, I don't think anything is gained gameplay-wise by having 48-hour days at this point.

In my next game I have planned, I'm strongly considering shortening the length of days after a certain point.

Agree completely. The game should be at its tensest and most exciting now, but the pace is dying. I feel like everyone except Q is locked into their votes anyway. All the extra time does now is give villagers time to doubt their instincts.

Scum-hunting effectively starts as soon as night falls anyway, so a single day period in the last days would still effectively be 48.

It would depend partly on timezones though. Since all the Pacific timezones bar Q are dead now (and there's a conspiracy theory for you to chew over), then the game is flowing fast. If it were Zak/Novice/Lewwyn/Azza/Bigger or something, I would probably want to keep it at 48.

I pretty much agree w/ everything you posted Gaspar. Don't like shortening later days, however. yes its less entertaining as a lurker. But there is some merit for giving people on the block time to argue their innocence - regardless of whether its a scum about to be lynched or a villager about to be mislynched.

I also think Lewwyn has a blind spot for me sometimes. You make it sound one sided :P
Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.

If Q lets Evil Uncle Zak talk him into lynching Jkaen, I will personally hop over to New Zealand and slap him. Maybe it's a ploy to see if Uber flips at the last moment and reveals himself, and then Q can switch back onto scum.

Q's right about one thing - this is the time that Ryan needs to be more persuasive. He has to try and convince people, not just fold his arms and wait to be proven right. Maybe he could remind people of this:

Easy to be judgmental from purgatory of course.
