[TECH] PB23 IT and Tech issues thread

I sent Grimace a PM with details but this is bad timing for me as I'm away visiting family and don't have access to my desktop and usual resources right now. I've given Grimace somewhere to look for the info he needs and may be able to help more directly tomorrow morning if he can't get the reload processed by then. Sorry guys. Happy holidays.

Xenu got me pointed in the right direction and the game is back up. Unfortunately, there are only start-of-turn saves (I scoured looking for EOT saves, but nada), so Adrien will have to play his turn over as well since the save went back to the beginning of his. So Adrien, CH, Whosit and Agent will have to play turns again (and Elum will need to play his turn period), but the timer is back up to 12 hours and feel free to pause if you think it's necessary. I check the board regularly from about 1500 UTC - 0600 UTC, and I'm not traveling, so if you need a pause/unpause during that time I should be available relatively soon after any post.

EDIT: Forgot to include Whosit in the list of people who have to play their turn over.

The mod should generate logout saves and login saves for every login. Also end-of-turn saves. But they're not in the default location. Try looking in c:/temp. Cal may have a scheduled task that archives them elsewhere. Just search local hard drives recursively for .civ4beyondthesword save files. (Don't remember the exact file extension name.)

Thank you everyone for the reload. I've gone in and made my correct moves. I'll try to be more vigilant for when my copy of the game decides to void all my settings. I also paused the game for the other players who need to redo their turns.

I thought that was the case, but I couldn't find them. I didn't search for the save extension because there are literally thousands of Civ saves on that box, so it wouldn't have been feasible to search that way. He has a process that moves the saves to a special folder, but it seems to only be active for PB22. But you are right that the additional saves are put in C:\Temp. I just logged in to look and they're there. Noted for the future. Right now Adrien & Whosit have already played their turns so there's no benefit to doing another reload, but if this happens again I now know where they are.
