How was the ivory for fur deal benefiting either of you when you each had 1x of the resource?

Because he has hooked up a 2nd fur and I do not have a 2nd ivory to connect. For some reason when I took the deal I thought I was trading Whales, which I'm about to connect a second copy of.
If I can get the 2nd whales connected within 10 turns (I think that's right- need to plant the city, grow to 2, whip the madrassa, then wait 3 turns for borders) then I'll be content. Especially because with Currency I'll be able to get cheap markets and now I'll have fur, ivory, and whale - all of which double under markets). Double digit population in my cities is the next goal.
I'm going to need more workers...

Well, just as I made a plan to use that extra fur, OH and Hitru go and cancel the deal.
I decided to settle Warbands to pick up the second whale anyway. Mostly because of logistics, and also because I'm optimistic to get a trade deal with whales in the future. Logistics are because I want to get the worker and the axe on the galley next turn to head to Tempest. Mouseferatu has shown up with an axe near Torment and a second worker to improve tiles out there will be worth it.
I don't know if I want to go farther north than Torment. We need to get that axe over there to see if that territory is worth reaching towards. More scouting on the way: a work boat out of Ambush is heading south. Both of those are the two nearest uncovered spaces to the capital.
Finally, I like these demos better so I'm showing demos for a second turn in a row
That GNP actually looks grand for the first time all game!

That doesn't look bad at all. Crop yield in particular makes me think that you're sustainably in the upper field. Where is expansion going next? Overseas, on your own continent,or both? Could we have a shot of the continental empire?
Nice that you found time for reporting, with the new league going on... you're way faster than me, I just finished act 5 with over 7 hours, but it's fun. Although crazy deadly if you always build your metamorph just from the left column (ok isgetting better since I decided toget resists before innocence ). Definitely would have given up on HC by now. Also the campaign boss power increase is notable and mostly welcome.
I did play ice shot last league as I found the lioneye bow (glare),and it was nice especially for blight as it just froze entire lanes from offscreen, but I fear I died too early to really explore it. Maybe if I find some awesome bow again I might try, although Impale/bleed champion sounds more interesting

Yeah, I'm encouraged a little by these numbers. I think we're seeing me grow into more coast tiles, and I'm getting cheap Madrassas down in many cities. So that GNP number is a little inflated because I'm burning gold to finish Currency. When Currency finishes we get +135% production into markets so I plan on adding them to a number of cities too, and those should give a better return overall.
Next expansion target is west, but there are some scouting efforts happening soon that may change my mind. There are a couple islands between me and beardbeard that I want to claim. But there's a settler on the continent coming out of Beyond soon, and it's going to stay on the continent. 3rd ring borders just popped at Nemesis in the north, and it's opened another avenue for me to expand.
I'm going to highlight these individuality over the coming turned and we'll do a big turn 100 overview.

What build are you playing?
I'm only faster because I binged on Saturday and half of Sunday. But i was trying to play faster too. No way would i want to try for a 2-3 hour Kitava kill though! Now that it's there work week I haven't progressed much at all and I'll not get to play much more until Saturday. Gave my Lionseye Glare to my brother and he's raced ahead of me with it.

They'd look better if I had given myself a bigger cushion and Currency had come in end of turn like I was planning...
But still pretty good.
This is at 0% when the last couple have been at 100%. Old Harry is also in a golden age now, but that's what happens when you're born with a silver spoon in your mouth.
Here is a big stitch overview of what I have here now:
First off, note that Mouse has settled up on me. This may very well be an overreach by him to try and keep me out. I am seriously considering whipping together some units to test this theory. And even if I don't, Madrassas have 4 culture and are dirt cheap; that border is not going to be a great one for him.
In the east I have a settler ready for my 13th city. No other settlers in production right now, but a couple cities are going to start them very shortly.
Here's a stitch that shows what I've explored in the west: from Mouse to Gavagai to Commodore
I might try to trade Comm for one of those furs actually...
And finally, a stitch to the south for GeneralKillCav and where I killed AT's work boat:
Do you see how I'm forking 2 empty GeneralKillCav cities? It might be time to show my hand - although GKC is really low on the score and city lists...

Currency is in and the results are rather fantastic. Break even is back at 40%. I'm making something like 70gpt at max gold, and at 100% science I'm almost at 200bpt.
So we must settle more cities, naturally!
This hopefully is going to secure the southern end of the continent for us. It is looking more and more like the continent is ours to take: OH and I both have chariots down there and I think we've finally reached what looks like the bottom. So with that in mind, I mapped out a quick dot map, and only now as I'm typing realize I don't like it so I'm not going to post it here yet. But the plan is still going to be the same: the main cities on the continent of Rampage, Beyond, and Bloodlines are going to fuel the settler push south. There's some good land down there, but not a lot of resources. Still, this is one of the few areas that I'm going to be able to cottage up! And I'll have lots of trees to chop at Beyond to get the settlers out.
And here is my next tech goal. This guy came out of Nemesis during my posting drought. He's going to bulb Theology, most likely. But I need to tech Polytheism, Priesthood, and Monotheism before I can. And honestly, I may wait a few more turns after that because I am about to get the next settler out of Ambush in 7 turns, and if that is a scientist then I may actually end up bulbing Philosophy.
Or - and I just thought of this so I need to sort it out a bit - maybe I need to go for a Golden Age with the guy out of Ambush and then use that GA to tech to Theology then shrine with this guy?

It's going to go in the capital. But first the capital is building a market so it can grow up to size 10.
