PB63 Spoilers: Superdeath is Crazy

So this is annoying. I only have to deal with this because MJMD IS STILL FRIENDLY WITH GINGER. HOLY SHIT.

Going to lose a city because Mjmd doesnt want to mess up some micro? Something? Ginger is going to make me peace out and gift him gold at this point. Because even with Gingers' Cornflakes-war betrayal i STILL am more stunned/hateful towards someone just wanting to build a sandcastle or something while the rest of us (me, cuz Cornflakes and Jack and Bing and Magic all dont care enough to declare war. BUT THEY AT LEAST AT THE VERRRRRRRRRRRRY LEAST have stopped trading with the game leader.

How much did my war declaration vs. Jack and extortion of that border city factor into your decision to send you knight stack at me? If I had left that city of Jack's as a buffer there would you have stayed home?

I had exchanged war for war ect with Ginger. It was SUPPOSED to be a mutual declare. Its why after capturing a couple cities i more or less stalled out and sent you all those requests saying "hey, ginger" hey," ect. I Shouldnt have declared first, and the diplo part of this pb has opened my eyes to others...

But more to the point, i didnt see the underlying advantage that Ginger would have vs my now new neighbor (you) who has knights/other units way ahead of me.

So the mutual exchange was not a lie at the beginning. I truly believe(d) that we needed to go in on Cornflakes because he had just captured *a ton* of Granaries and towns and would’ve easily won if he could’ve consolidated and hit Mil Sci.
However we had different time tables in mind. I was also communicated with Mjmd, who kept insisting on late 150s early 160s, while I wanted to wait until 170 at the earliest. I don’t think I ever communicated a date time with you and maybe you got a time from Mjmd’s signaling?
My army was *nowhere* near ready when you declared, still hadn’t hit Guilds, and would’ve been crushed by CF’s maces one the north. It was a bunch of Praets and Cats that would’ve been as successful as Bing’s invasion of my south a few turns before Mjmd’s concession.

It also looked from my perspective that you were crushing it with no help from me, and the lack of any sharkfinning on CF’s graph made me incredibly nervous that I would march into a trap.

TL:DR
The “joint” war was necessary, I was far less ready for it than my power graph suggested, and the lack of any significant Egyptian power losses made me worry that I would get crushed and hung out to dry. Speaking of Egyptian power, I only beat CF because of the first strike, and stalled out until Cuir upgrades arrived. Also if we did fold up CF in the mid turn 160s, I fully expected you to sweep my new conquests out from under me with your better Knight stack. I kept thinking “oh shit he’s gonna get it all and have triple blob”.

I was too far behind technologically (shouldnt have kept pindi's capital) to think about taking MORE land than a rough split of Cornflakes. The pure anger i felt seeing your fair sized/large stack of praets/cats/ect grow larger and never enter the war... THAT drove me away from this pb tbh.

You reached Guilds so fast I was very surprised when your tech stagnated as hard as it did, so I underestimated that factor. Sure you might not have kept it, but would you have let me keep it if I had stayed true and we somehow magically beat CF (which was only accomplished with much better tech than Praets)?

I try to keep my word because Diplo trust is a valuable resource like MFG or GNP, but it just felt like a strong misplay at the time. I’m sorry it hurt but from my position I felt trapped.

I doubt this helps, but try not to take it personally, because it’s just my innate way of playing almost any strategy game. I’m cautious to a fault and I hate taking combat risks, preferring to conservatively builder a better hand before matching up against another player.

BTW just reading your last page post, the obvious reason I didn't cancel open borders with Ginger for a long time was if I did he would assume I would declare war AND then he would declare war before I was ready (not that I was when I did, but I blame Bing for picking that timing and not earlier as I wanted or later, which is btw why I kept giving different times, is I was waiting on Bing to confirm).

Why did you stop the first Jack war? I thought that war made tons of sense and I thought it was pretty winnable especially since Bing joined in.

I was hoping for your stack to show up in my east / your west once the war started, but it kind of just sat at home for a while and then headed to my main area?

But heh other than that early troll war we neighbored each other and never got in a war. Some kind of record.

I stopped the first Jack war because Bing initiated it more than like 12t before i wanted to go in. I had NOTHING ready. MY biggest mistake (imo) was not razing Pindi's capital. The mistake/thing that most likely gave me the L for this pitboss, was Bing accepting that damn war 4 war deal.

There at the end i was basically waiting for the game to end. You didnt tech to rifling or have sufficient units ready (not holding the cairo war against ya) when i was engaging Ginger/trying to keep Cornflakes alive. So there at the end when Ginger was winning what seemed like all the combat rolls, had massive control of the sea, and your open borders with him let him bring a small stack of cavalry against me and made me have to panic whip to avoid losing cities? Yeah... Wasnt that into it. Also with the small force i had left after all that fun, figured it would be better to have a nice large stacked force between both of us rather than letting him send 5 cavalry and 2 rifles and defend/kill any stack i send his way on my west. Also, if i went west with a force i would have been tempted to go after MS/Cairo who didnt look to be interested in helping out in the war either.

Early troll wars are best wars.

ROFL I just got done with Bings videos and he mentioned he accidentally accepted your offer. That explains a lot actually. At least you got some gold out of it. This is the 2nd time that has happened to you right? The last PBEM it happened too if memory serves. Couldn't happen to a better guy  neenerneener

Ya I had a lot of units in queue I whipped as soon Ginger invaded Cornflakes, changed my tech path, and got turn signals from Bing he would help out. AND then Cairo invaded for the 2nd pointless time  banghead
