What would be the reason/deciding factor for anyone/everyone ? Well, north to Tarkeel is only one scenario: Plemo has opened up an assault so ferocious that I need to snap up territory from a total rout. Otherwise, they are a bulwark against the game-winner. Even though the bulgy isthmus is an attractive territory, I'm not weakening them.
The two natural expansion options are Bing and Pindicator. There are pros and cons:
Bing...
Pros: Easy to integrate territory, less strategic depth, weaker.
Cons: Awkward end-state, Pindicator might not be able to split well.
Pindicator...
Pros: Stronger player to take out, possibly *two* allies (Amicalola and Bing) splitting, valuable shrine.
Cons: Harder general to outfight, stronger empire. No future split with Bing after.

Plemo and Pindicator both have spices hooked, so MoM race is happening there. Neither has marble so it'll be an expensive build at least. :-\

Plemo is holding up the turn with Tarkeel's invasion, but I'm happy to note that Superdeath is also on the bad side of a split with the global hegemon. Nice.
Bing didn't respond to a timer proposal vs. Pin, but Amicalola is very interested in alliance.

Caste makes me mildly concerned that Pindicator would wheel around and hurt me, but that's a game-losing proposition for both of us, so I'm will to run the risk while enjoying at least a little GPP; GMerchant from Bismarck, then capital gives a Great Scientist a couple turns after. All-in on the knight beeline.

Huh, I thought multi-failgold was patched out. Apparently only if you complete the wonder?

Yeah, I believe it's just if you complete it yourself. Appreciate the cash injection, it'll get me to Guilds in about five turns, but I'd have rather had the MoM.
