GG Al. I'll read your thread later, and could offer some suggestions/feedback if you want (I don't want to be condescending). Obviously you were my biggest threat to win all game.

Nice Colossus snipe, btw. If you read my thread, you'll see that caused me no end of grief and forced me to change plans. In the seeding thread for Pitboss 30, I said that one of your strengths was your ability to build wonders in a short amount of time, and that proved to be the case here.

The first GE was very fortunate, yes. There was a 14% chance. However, I had spawned a Great Spy at even lower odds earlier in the game... maybe ~5%, I think. Sometimes low odds Great People happen, especially in a National Epic city that is deliberately polluted.

After that, I spawned two more Great People in the cap. On each occasion I was running max specialists outside of Caste, so 12GPP from Merchants, 14GPP from Scientists and the Great Library, 3GPP from an Engineer, 3GPP from a Spy, 3GPP from the NE/Taj. That basically meant I had a 25% chance of spawning a non-GMerchant/GScientist for a Golden Age. I had enough time to spawn 2 by the end of the third GA, which put my odds at ~40%, IIRC. The Communist GSpy would have been a decent backup had I just spawned Great Merchants and Great Scientists.

It's a little less that you messed up and more that I did, I suspect. Frankly, I was barely a bump in the road for DTG. Maces and impi's can't stand up to shock knights...
