Guys let's all breathe. This is supposed to be a high skill no drama game I thought - we have had more drama before we have even started than most games.
Mack didn't like his picks and wanted to play with others and it is reasonable to ask. He is struggling to explain his idea obviously but that doesn't mean it is bad. Whether it is fair to others now all the choices are out there is a different issue.
I'm happy to change the way we are picking if it makes people happier. Playing a pick you like is much more entertaining than one you don't, and will bring more to the game.

I'd like to see people commit to the stated process better, but i'd more strongly like to see this game fly. To that end, a couple options.
Proposal 1: everyone can choose one of their three combos OR say "reject". This choice is private, and at such time as all players choose, all the unchosen combos go back in the hat for a remix (no new leaders/civs added) and those who chose to reject their starting choices get one at random... And they are stuck with it.
Proposal 2: we go with 7 players, if OldHarry is able to cool off... And Jojo's offer to stay out of the tech thread is taken as an formal commitment. I like you jojo, but you rub people wrong sometimes*
Ill be putting out at least a draft of the map within 15 hours, so can still flex player numbers. 7 still can work because of the natural map.

I said I am fine to cary on with the as it is .I will play with one of my combos if OH returns otherwise i am out as well.

Like most of my votes, I didn't feel strongly enough about how we pick leaders to have that make our break the game. So while I am happy with my current choices I'm also happy to find a better solution should one exist.
