Ouch, that's rough.
Quote:The barbs moved towards the pig instead of attacking so I attacked out with one of the dogs and lost a 86.6%. There actually was a better move but I didn't think it through properly again so it's my fault. It will be very hard to recover from here.
The one thing I forgot to say explicitly (but was implied in the "read PB62" comment): Always have a backup unit for when you fail those high rolls.

The backup was the second dog that remained in the city fortified, and I didn't think it can practically lose against a weakened archer and a warrior. But the best move last turn (move one dog towards pig with the second staying in capital) would have allowed me to recapture even in this scenario so attacking the archer was a mistake all round.

Question - when the barb city flips what will happen to the units inside - will they disappear or will they be teleported somewhere? Also, the city has built an archer that moves in an out of the city - what will happen to it in case it's inside or outside? And last, when the city flips will I get a free archer in it?
And one more - when the oasis tile flipped on the interturn, the citizen was reassigned and we ended up working it. But when culture borders grow, this doesn't happen and we can't work second ring on the turn it expands, right?

Ouch, that's a horrendous run of luck.

All of the barbarian units inside will disband, and you will be given a fresh defender for it. I would generally expect this to be an Archer, but I'm not totally sure what happens if you do not have Archery. Could be a Warrior I suppose. But in general, the units go away and you get a very basic era-appropriate defender.

Thanks. I have archery already as that's where my monument is.
And what about the archer that the barb city built? (see below) It is wandering around the island now, some turns in the city and some turns out. If it's inside when the city flips it will get disbanded, but if it's outside will it also disband, or remain in place, or teleport somewhere and where? Would be ironic if it teleports next to Willow and captures it

If there's any good news, I suppose you got a free Palace in Willow now, to accelerate flipping the barb city?

Indeed, border pops in 3 instead of in 7
That's also why I'm concerned about what will happen with the barb archer. Currently having just a warrior there and it's even out of the city to keep the worker safe.

Right, the streets are a problem too with barbs from the fog.
After the archer I really would train a dog to try to recapture the capital - maybe even before the archer.
Generel teleporting rules would place the barb archer on the SW of the island.

We don't have the power to recapture. There can easily be an archer in Fierias by the time a dog can get there and that will be the end. Even if successful, we'll need to defend the city, rebuild the improvements, and will be massively overstretched for a while both to barbs and to Magic and Gav. One or two chariots will be all that it takes.
Pottery is very close so I think we just turtle here for a moment, whip a granary to set up a little foodhammer base, and assess from there - if the barbs don't put an end to us in the meantime.

The barb won't teleport unless you have the Great Wall (in which case it won't attack anyway). Good luck turning this around after that truly horrendous luck!
