There appears to be a clear sky power outage at my house. It seems like it's only a couple of blocks, so I doubt it will take long to resolve, but I may need a pause.

Scratch that, apparently a local construction project messed up some power lines and it could tkae upwards of one week to fix.

are you kidding? if we were able to reload earth when a mistake was made, we'd have never made into the modern era - we'd still be replaying the stone age.

This may not matter if Oxy's power company continues to provide terrible service and can't turn the lights back on, but Boldly and I will be without Civ access for several days, from Thursday to Monday coming up this week (the 4th through 8th). Brick is unavailable to play that weekend too, because he apparently schedules his vacations around avoiding turn playing duties.

So if anyone would like to volunteer for sub duty we can (maybe?) use you, depending on if the game gets going before Thursday again. I'll make sure Boldly leaves instructions, he like trying to order people around.

May I suggest Oxy and others gonna be away for 2-3 days posting a new thread in "Civ General" forum, about wanting a substitute for some turns?

Not necessary 3 turns a day for the whole strech, in my view it's an ocean of difference between two turns in 10 days and ZERO turns in 10 days....starting to forget what I'm supposed to do.

Post the address to the game, name of civ and password and what-to-do next couple turns in your private lurker thread for easy access, shouldn't take a sub more than a few minutes to play...

Well it looks like an extended hiatus has been thrust upon us. I'd hope that Oxy could give us an update of any kind. I share Molach's sentiments about getting some turns played in the near future, but that doesn't look promising at this point.

That would be nice. If someone is willing to sub for our team, please respond in our thread. I'm assuming that Oxy will get things straight before I'm back from my trip (Xenu is going too), so I'd like to avoid holding up the game any further. I'm not sure when Brick will be back from his weekend/trip.

Guys, I am extremely sorry about the delay. Basically my life is so screwed up right now that things are starting to fall through the cracks and unfortunately civ is one of the first things to go, which of course isn't fair to you guys. In short, the news isn't good. I haven't been assured of power+internet before thursday. Should I go ahead and make a post in the civ general forum?
