[SPOILERS] Donovan Zoi and AdrienIer: Slümhund Millionaires!

Did I mention somewhere that GJ declared war on Elkad ?
Reply

Is the war current, or is the one from earlier? Because I had noticed a war between them when we first met Elkad.

In the future, let's make sure to never end our Scout turns on open tiles like that, even it routes us away from what we'd rather see. Ending up on the Silver tile would have been the safer bet. On a small map like this, we'll have a small window for barbs anyway, so I don't anticipate that mongrels and vagrants will be a long-term concern. But yeah, this kind of hurts.

Incidentally, I am not allowed to see some images on my work computer, so when I saw your "oh well" post I was actually relieved check my cell phone to see that our scout was dust. I thought we had lost Stonehenge! lol

New war, from last turn.

This time it was either not scout or end up in the open. We were 2N1W at the start of turn and the obvious move was SE, then I decided to go south to meet new people which may or may not have been a mistake, but all options were unforested and unhilled.

So we got Stonehenge. Wow. Now we have a real responsibility to not screw this up.

Congratulations!

PBEM 65 spoiler:
Don't overbuild wonders :P

Well we are industrial here, it would be a waste not to use it on at least one or two more wonders. Also keep in mind that in a 4 player game you can be tempted to go after pretty much any wonder and have a chance of getting it, while this is a 9 player game where you can't get more than a handful of them and it's likely the player that prioritizes a wonder that gets it. Although I was surprised to see some wonders remain untaken relatively late in the 7 players PB23.

Wasn't all that serious. A neat Stonehenge without losing on the 2nd city is of course very nice.

Our scout survived ! But there was yet another bear so he moved away.

Notice the ice in the south, we've reached the south pole.

Domestically I've started chopping our next settler, and the other worker moved to the fur site to get the furs online ASAP. We'll need another FW soon after that, 3 cities and 2 workers (however fast they go) is not a good ratio. But I agree that with an aggressive impi guy next door an axe build in Duquesne is safer. No WW between Elkad and GJ as of this turn, they've yet to fight.

And I'm not sure why you're reverting to 80% research all the time, I know that for now it doesn't make a real difference but we should use binary research from now on.

Behold, Stone'enge!

Old news now, I know, but couldn't resist...

Yes, this will be great for us, though I don't think it will make us too much of a mark for others. Getting quicker border pops will protect us and getting the additonal FWs on board will help us get some Axes to the front lines with GJ faster.

We get AH and a capital border pop next turn. This will get us a better look at the Stone site and the Ivory site. We'll also find out if we have nearby Horses. What should we research next?

Pottery - With Furs, Gold and Gems in the immediate future, getting some river Cottages going will be a further boost to our economy and a good way to use the additional pop points. It also sets us up for MC, which should come down nicely from the current 24 turn rate with the new luxuries worked.

Hunting - This tech may be needed after Pottery, but with Pigs and Sheep on the outer ring of our proposed 3rd city (I prefer our original location 1W of the Gold) we have some time. It also gets us Spearmen if we see Horses frolicking by a nearby rival.

Fishing - Though I am anxious to check out the land across the channel, I think this should wait just a bit longer.

Writing - It would be cool to get the jump on early Academies, but I think we need to spend a bit more time on our development first.

Polytheism - Two of the early religions are still available! But if this is the case, it means we still have a good shot at Theo or CoL to land a later one too. Oracle is Grimace's to lose at this point.

Also, let me know what you think of the next build options in each city. FWs should be fast coming for sure, but I'm not against stopgapping with a Warrior build first (in Salmon Falls at least) to allow for some growth-to-cap. We are getting a protester there due to lack of military protection, and I'd like to keep our delay to Size 7-8 to a minimum if possible.

Also, GJ and Elkad have a 10 turn peace treaty now, so they are free to look west scared if they are so inclined.
