Behold, Stone'enge!
Old news now, I know, but couldn't resist...
Yes, this will be great for us, though I don't think it will make us too much of a mark for others. Getting quicker border pops will protect us and getting the additonal FWs on board will help us get some Axes to the front lines with GJ faster.
We get AH and a capital border pop next turn. This will get us a better look at the Stone site and the Ivory site. We'll also find out if we have nearby Horses. What should we research next?
Pottery - With Furs, Gold and Gems in the immediate future, getting some river Cottages going will be a further boost to our economy and a good way to use the additional pop points. It also sets us up for MC, which should come down nicely from the current 24 turn rate with the new luxuries worked.
Hunting - This tech may be needed after Pottery, but with Pigs and Sheep on the outer ring of our proposed 3rd city (I prefer our original location 1W of the Gold) we have some time. It also gets us Spearmen if we see Horses frolicking by a nearby rival.
Fishing - Though I am anxious to check out the land across the channel, I think this should wait just a bit longer.
Writing - It would be cool to get the jump on early Academies, but I think we need to spend a bit more time on our development first.
Polytheism - Two of the early religions are still available! But if this is the case, it means we still have a good shot at Theo or CoL to land a later one too. Oracle is Grimace's to lose at this point.
Also, let me know what you think of the next build options in each city. FWs should be fast coming for sure, but I'm not against stopgapping with a Warrior build first (in Salmon Falls at least) to allow for some growth-to-cap. We are getting a protester there due to lack of military protection, and I'd like to keep our delay to Size 7-8 to a minimum if possible.
