Edit: HEAVY whipping from plako on his side of the turn. That does not seem to be good news for him, but it probably means that horse archer stack has gone south

Turn 139

As we said, things between plako and Gav have gotten hot with Commodore and I out of the war:




No sight on that imposing horse archer stack we saw Gavagai had, so I don't know if he's moved it down here -- it could strike the border city out of the fog with the borders as they are -- or not.

Scouts in Commodore and TBS lands spotted both their capital cities - good information for geopolitics. For instance, how safe do you think Gavagai feels with us having direct access to his capital now? His reaction to us was probably as strong as it was just as much for the proximity to the capital as it was for the holy city.

And a future wonder! One that I freaked out about last turn because I thought that we were significantly short. Turns out I just forgot to carry the 1 and we are fine.

We are able to finish Music at 90% this turn, and hopefully that free Artist is still available. Because we get it at 90% I was able to get by with 1 less major city building Wealth than I initially set up. Here's the city list:

Lewwyn, if you log in be sure to queue in a building after the wonder. I forgot to do that and I'd hate for us to lose all the hammers from those chops if someone else completes Parthenon this end of turn as well.

Ok I got in and took a look around. Queued up a library after Parthenon for you. Also a CKN after that.

We did get the Temple of Artemis:

Now I think we might have a problem but I can't confirm. When I look at the tech tree I can see first to research gets the Artist:




However, In the news someone birthed a Great Artist this turn:




Also note that I am hovering over music as we are teching it and I don't see the first to tech gets the artist in the description of music (bottom left corner of the SS).

I think this means someone beat us to Music by 1 turn. I am not sure how to confirm? Can a lurker correct me if I'm wrong but if you can't see first to tech in the mouseover then its no longer available?

If I'm right we need to swap over to construction before the end of turn, unless we want music in order to build culture. Would appreciate some feedback.

Well if Gav is too busy eating up Plako then that's one way for us to be safe. But this is exactly why I wanted to peace out with Gav early - to prevent that from happening to us.

Oh yeah, we got ToA! And I set Moai to grow as fast as possible and gave all the land tiles to Gleierscher

Oh shoot, I missed the part about Music in my hurried reading when I was getting ready for work. Scooter is entirely correct, and once again I have managed to fall a turn short this game. Augh.

We should change for Construction if you have not done so already.

I knew in my heart of hearts I was correct, I just didn't want to admit it...

Swapped to construction, slider at 70% = 1t. Slider at 70% is also Monarchy at 1t so we can do that next. We are -38 gpt as I took off 2 wealth builds to continue some units. Pieffer is still on wealth because we need that gold to complete the two techs in 2 turns.

I think we should put our CKN army into elephantine so that they can build a fortify bonus in the city. There are enough units that even his 40 HA won't be able to break them. I'd rather not have him hit the city and take it and then we have to retake it here. I didn't move it yet, but we should next turn.

BTW, Commodore planted 3 new cities.

We know TBS planted 5 new ones.

Both got astro earlier. Stands to reason there is/was? a lot of land out there in the fog. Not that we're in a position to do anything about it.
