If I have understood correctly Civac has plenty of mp experience, just from different forum. But the more new players we get to this 20 year old game the better

PB55 was my first Civ4 MP game. But I had lurked civforum PBs for half a decade or so which helped some. A bunch of things also really broke my way in that game.

Nevertheless, I agree with Mjmd that first time players can win slow Civ4 MP matches. Plemo did so and I think also Cutty Fram, an elite civforum player from the days of yore.

Amica and Civac did well in PB55 despite being newer and being against much more experienced players. But up to you. Heck if we get enough could split it up too.

But I agree, new players can do fine in non-greens games. Especially (but not necessarily) with an active and engaged dedlurker, which makes a huge difference.

I don't think there is anyway your prying SD out of a new pitboss now that he's signed up  , so your probably fine Tarkeel. As long as the newer players have ded lurkers and know they have long odds.
